Need help. This is my first Infinity, M35 with XM. Started having this problem at about 7000 miles (5 months). I would start the car and the Radio would act as if I had no subscription (i.e. would be on channel 1 and I can only get like 3 or 4 channels.... the previews). When you check channel 0 for the radio id its all blank. During this the bluetooth is not working either. As soon as I turn the car off, and back on everything works fine. This problem happens about 3-5 times per month. My dealer first tried to tell me it couldn't happen. He told me to drive it in when it happened. I finnaly did and now he's going to replace the radio unit. I can't imagine that that will fix the bluetooth issue but ??? The dealer and service department are a bunch of bozos. Nothing is their fault or the cars. Any ideas are very welcome ! I'm getting frustrated and thinking about going back to a BMW. Please help.

Wow! If something this minor is wagging your tail then please go back to BMW. Im not trying to be an a-hole but let them do their job or bring it to another dealership. There are so many electrical components and devices on these cars that MOST companies do not give any information on, so a lot of times if not most, the techs have to just replace a part or put a known good one in it to see if it fixes the problem. And if it is that intermitant(3-5 times a month is very much so) it might take some time. I know for a fact that BMW has minor problems just like that, all cars do, you just happened to get one that doesnt like something it has in it for some reason.cheers

Thanks for the reply. I was kind of looking for someone that might have some knowledge about the electrical system. Not some cheerleader for the brand. I would not feel this way if the dealer instilled any confidence in me that they can fix the car, or had compehensive knowledge of the cars workings. The basicly were rude, and shook their heads, and came off to me that this was the only problem they had ever heard of with the M35, and I was an interuption of their time. I purchased this car because like you, I loved it. I do not expect perfection, but I should not have to take an expensive "high end" car to the dealer 3 times to get the radio fixed. If thats acceptable to you, great. A good friend has a Lexus (no I do not like them), and when he shows up at the dealer they fall all over themselves to take care of him. They treat him with the respect all of us should treat our customers with.

Don't know which dealer you are going to but I did a search on the Ft Lauderdale area and came up with 6 dealers within a 40 mile range. Perhaps you should change dealers. FWIW, Sawgrass Infiniti was awarded the 2007 Infiniti Award of Excellence.

Thats one of the things that brought me to this dealer. They are fixing the car today, so I'm hoping that all will be well and this was just an isolated experience. Maybe the answer is as simple as changing service advisors.

Welcome to NICO!

Sorry this was a problem on your car. Maybe the change in dealer will make a difference.

I can say that my experience with the local San Jose Frontier Infiniti folks has been excellent. While they may have difficulty tracking down an intermittent and rare issue, they certainly take the effort to look and see if they can figure it out. Your poor experience with one dealer is not the norm for Infiniti!
