(My system specs are in my sig)

Whenever I listen to music (loudly) when a long and hard base note hits, my front and rear speakers would distort, and as the note passes they would play normally…

Do I need capacitor for the sub amp? Better battery? Second battery?

Any input will be much appreciated.

What cross-overs are you using - active, passive, internal amp, external amp, slope or non at all of the Kappa's?

My guess is you want the Kappa's crossed-over at about 200Hz, maybe even the a little higher. It will also depend on whether you're using active or passive, and the slope if active. Whenever possible, it's always best to use cross-overs between the HU and the amp(s).

I’m running the speakers on HP (High Pass) the RF has an internal crossover; the speakers themselves use an external crossover, to separate the mid range and tweeters from the cone.

I don’t think that’s the problem.

Try disconnecting the power/trigger to the sub amp and see if you experience the distortion. If they don't then it does have something to do with the other amp/draw on the battery. If it does, then you know the sub amp/draw has nothing to do with the issue, make sense?

How long have you been running your system? Is it new? Are your lines parted far enough from each other.. They may be causing the distortion when bass hits hard .Dunno , just a guess.

UPDATE:

I think I found the problem, one of the terminals on the crossover lines in the back speaker became disconnected…I fixed it…and the problem is yet to occur…will update if problem returns…

I had a feeling it was your lines.. When you said bass hits long and hard , I pictured your lines moving around from vibration and causing this.

Hope your prob is solved bro .. Stuff like this is a pain in the *** because their is a plethora of areas to troubleshoot

Yeah but only one speaker became disconnected, and it affected all four…and why only on base notes…weird…

Background: each speaker comes with its own external crossover; I’m running a 4ch amp and 1ch per speakers.

so the question is, is it possible for one poorly wired channel to effect all other?

Anyway, I just hope the problem is solved
