I got a free Autometer Phantom A/F gauge and I hooked it up as following:

-Black wire = GROUND as always-Red wire = "on" switch (I chose cigarette lighter)-Purple wire = o2 sensor signal wire

When I turn on the car, it'll work for a split second...Usually it works fine when the motor is cold or something. After about 10-15 min, everything will just disappear...as if nothing was hooked up, but if I cut the signal wire and just have the power wires hooked up, it turns on, but doesn't work since there is no signal, so I'm sure it's the signal wire causing the problems.

Anyways, do any of you know what MIGHT be causing that problem? I know Automter are POS's but POS or not, they'll do the job..

I'm having the same problem, but then mine only lights up at start up and then it doesn't light up anymore while driving. I just installed a Z series autometer a/f gauge. Got yours fixed yet?

Does yours hook up to your actual o2 sensor or to your ECU? Try switching them?

Narrowband A/F's suck. Mine does all sorts of weird crap. It doesn't really tell me much and it kinda comes on whenever it wants to.

Mine is hooked up to the ecu. I'll try to hook it up to the o2 sensor in the engine bay on Monday. I work tomorrow so I won't get a chance to switch the connections til Monday.

Word! For the record, there's a very similar thread up above a bit.
