basically, after a long trip on the interstate, i'll get off and drive 45 for a bit and it'll start virbrating and misfiring. I've wiggled all the available connectors (maf, cas, injectors, temp sensors, main connector for coil packs) and nothing makes a difference. It happened twice today (on the way to work and on the way home) and has happened other times as well. When left to idle, it seems like its running on 3 cylinders. It'll still rev and build boost, and the vacuums is located where it always is on the gauge, so i've ruled out vacuum lines and intake leaks. Could it be a faulty coil pack? It only happens after a long drive on the interstate, once i get on a 45mph road and put it in 5th gear around 45-50.

i had a similar problem, after checking out connections and changing out the coilpack ,ended up being a boost leak. Unmetered air is a *****

I don't claim to know anything, but if it was in fact a coil pack, could you use one off of a FWD CA? I ask because there is/was one at UWI not but this past weekend.

check for boost leaks first. The computer doesn't like unmetered air at all. Then I'd check for spark. If it's only doing it when it's hot though, that really sounds like an ignition problem and may very well be a coilpack.

I'm with Ryan on this, sounds like a faulty coil pack. Do the test in the dark and you can see which one it is. Don't forget to take off the spark plug cover:D LMAO
