have you swapped out your factory hid's? why&how?

has anyone swapped out their original factory hid's for aftermarket brand?

and if so.. what was the reason? color change? more light output??

ive seen some hids out there that look a hell of a lot brighter than the factory hids that i have.. was wondering how i would go about this?

There's two reasons why aftermarket looks brighter in terms of light output. One is that they use D2S bulbs which are meant for projector headlamps, so putting those on our reflector headlamps will produce all that glare, making it look a lot brighter. The other way is using 55watt bulbs instead of OEM 35watts, but you will also need to switch out your OEM 35w ballast for an aftermarket 55w one. However I wouldn't replace our OEM set up for an aftermarket one.

i still am contemplating on the fog light hids from ddm that u told me about... i just want them bright.. andthey have 35w and 55w... and dont want to have an issue with the 55w later.... so i guess i might go with the 35w like u said

phobs u have any clear.. night shots of ur fogs?? and also shots of the light output on the ground like in ur default pic??? its just so small so i really cant see it on my laptop

Unfortunately, I swapped out my HID fogs for just regular yellow halogen bulbs because I wanted that deep yellow look for my fogs. Are you just planning to change only your fog lights or your headlights too?

i already changed my fogs to luminics krypton jdm yellow and they do give a deep yellow look but hardly any light output... but i want more performance from my fogs... so getting hid fogs is top priorityhid after what u told me about aftermarket hid headlights... ill leave the stock as is..
