I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this, but just looking for reviews. Are the KYB gas good enough to really notice the difference? Mine has 75k miles still riding on the OEM and the rears are completely shot (left rear is leaking).

I bought my 2001 Pathy with 66K miles on it and the shocks and struts were already tired. I replaced all of them and installed Old Man Emu springs at about 80K miles. It transformed the ride and handling dramatically. The rear suspension improvement was incredible. I did not realize how badly sagged the rear springs were until I replaced them. I went with Rancho Suspension struts and shocks. Next time (I keep my cars a long time), I will try the KYB parts. Don't forget to replace the springs. This is one area where Nissan did not do a good job. Old Man Emu springs are a very worthwhile upgrade and they still have decent ride quality.

I put the Rancho struts and Bilstein shocks on my pathy and it improved the handling a lot but worsened the ride quality. If i had the tires slicked it rode nicely, but with 50 psi any bump in the road will knock the air outa you. Ran me about $800. After about a year and a half, the front is completely sagged again and the struts look good still but i might replace the coil springs.. The main reason they sag so quickly is because i dogg the hell out of my car and it shows.

Thanks for the info guys. My guy quoted about $650 to put on the KYBs with an alignment. That seemed fairly reasonable, especially since there's no way I'm going to even attempt to do the fronts myself.

It may be a few more weeks though before I get this done. I will provide a review when complete. I won't be doing springs now.

I like ARB products alot but didnt want to spend the money on the Path for them. Went with KYB gas a just shocks, and definitely like them alot. I plan on using KYB struts possibly next year. Path still handles great. I dont think you can go wrong with the KYB's for price and performance.

The struts arent really hard at all man. Yeah compressing the stock springs is a pain, but then again i lowered it, so when i put in the 2" lowering springs, i didnt have to compress the strut at all, just make sure it was lined up lol, so that saved alot of headache also.

I replaced all 4 coils with 2" lowering ones.

Kyb gas-a-just shocks

Kyb gr-2 struts

Plus hardware you have to replace and other things all that came to like $970 and i did it myself, so no shop costs or anything.

Also if you dont offroad and stuff, then i highly suggest lowering it, my ride is a tad bit more harsh than stock, but now on highway exits sedans cant even keep up on those corners and theres almost no body roll.

i was the first one to drop my pathy on here, and there was alot of skepticism with dropping it and stuff, but i only have good things to say about it and really glad i did it.
