Yes, I am one of those freaks that names their car.

My Versa was named Vince. It came easily because he had a rather tough personality (from the incident with the truck) and the letters in the plate were VNZ.

Others have been:Tucson - "Tank" (It tried taking out two Nissan Frontiers at once, and survived to tell the story)'76 Subaru - "Piece of (bleep) car" (hey, I bought it for $75... what do you expect?)'87 Subaru - Lurch (named after its driving tendancy... gotta love 1bbl Hitachi carbs)

I've never named a car. They never come when I call them anyway.

I, too, have just purchased a blueberry Versa and am trying to figure out her personality.

We currently have Gert, the Toyota Tundra (she's German of Japanese ancestry), and traded in Fritzi the Jetta Wagon TDI to get "new car".

all of our vehicles have had names -

Pokey the Undie Bus - 1977 1/2 VW BusLola - 1977 VW BusFoxxy - 1984 VW Fox WagonPootie - 1997 VW Jetta sedan

We were converted to Toyota after purchasing Gertie in 2003, and used to be hardcore VW fans (still are, of vintage models, however) until Fritzi took us on a wild ride. Don't be fooled - TDI might get 58mpg but if she's never out of the shop, it doesn't matter!

Anyways...we've got "new car" still in the garage and feeling sad because she doesn't have a name.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, first don't limit yourself to female names. Some cars have male personalities.

Rocket

It's red, has windows going all the way around it and has the antenna on top. It looks like "Rocket" from Little Einsteins. Anyone with really young kids will understand.

My other cars were all male personalities. The European cars Fifi and Sophia are French and Italian and just don't look like men.

Been driving the V around for a few days, and haven't got a sense of its personality, aside from the fact that it's so quiet. Having driven the diesel Clown Car for so long, the V's quiet personality is hard to figure out its name, but Violet Beauregarde just doesn't cut it. It's feeling more Gary Cooperish.
