My beautiful new baby (09 Versa Hatch in Arctic Blue) has a chip in her paint. Nothing really noticable, except to me. It is on the front right where the body and hood meet.

I went to the dealer for touch-up paint only to be told "that's a color we can't order". I was instead sent to a bodyshop and told to have them match and mix some touch-up paint for me.

What the heck?

In talking to my future brother-in-law, who does body work for an auto auction for a living, he told me to forget about touch-up paint. His advice was to go to the store and find finger nail polish that was the same color and use that instead.

Just curious, has anyone else heard of this and/or tried this?

nail polish works like a sealer so the stone chip does not start to rust.
