An observation:Have you ever noticed that sometimes your ride just seems to be a little smoother, a little quieter, a little faster, a little tighter sometimes?I was driving around last Friday in my Pathfinder, visiting a few clients, and I couldn't help but notice that it seemed to be running better than usual. It felt and sounded really good. I have no explanation for this. It's happened once in a while too with other cars I've had.Maybe it's a combination of the temperature, humidity, air pressure, or something like that, but it sure ran great last week.Today it felt "normal" again. Go figure.

I have noticed that...but it's the same with alot of cars, unless the system is buttoned up real tight and things are spot on, allowing for very little differential...But yeah, some days the Pathy feels slothish, but others, peppier than hell...alot can be chocked up to atmopheric pressure, temp, humidity, etc, like you said....but some days....frankly, you're paying more attention to the feel of the car than others...All in all, I'm happy with the power of the R50, but another 30 hp and a FlowMaster muffler would make my days of driving alot more entertaining....

I too have felt that. I usually chalk it up to temp/humidity/ECU in open mode. I think it's like sixguns says, unless your ride is really buttoned up, you'll notice day to day variances in performance.

I mention the ECU because I've driven it around and it feels slothy. Park it, leave it for a little while, hop back in, and then suddenly it feels a heck of a lot peppier than it did. Also have felt the exact opposite. IMO if it's in open mode but already warmed up, it could feel pretty peppy for a few minutes until the ECU kicks into closed mode.

But then, I've got issues w/ my MAF, exhaust leak, possible water/coolant in my transmission... So who knows WTF my poor rides going through.

I guess I'm not the only one who has felt this difference. I've experienced this same situations that you're stating. In the winter my truck tends to get stiff and very rotty on the road, when it's warmer and when I have my windows rolled down my truck feels very smooth and light and tends to get more speed. Also not sure if anyone has experienced this as well, I have felt a tremendous difference in handling after my truck has gone through a car wash driveway, like it's gotten better than what it has been. Not sure if anyone has experienced this but I have. It's weird though.

Do you see the 1st picture in my Sig?... well not too long (like 3 or so weeks) after that little fiasco my engine **** the bed, so I have another one that I've broken down, rebuilt & replaced everything & repainted & I am installing or have been for like a month now (no time ya know?). Hopefully this weekend I'll have her up & running cause I have the new one in & just need to put all of the fluids back in.

I completely locked up the other motor though... I mean I threw 2 pistons completely out (one hit the oil pan & smashed it all to hell) & locked up the other 4, plus cracked the engine block (thats actually an understatement)! Did all of this back in the begining of October so I've been without my Pathy for like 2 months now.
