I think the cable in your car might have come disconnected from the mechanism?wishin_on_an_sr wrote:i HAD this problem, now my hatch doesnt open at all, anyone know how to fix this since we're on the hatch topic?
hope yours doesn't do the same thing as mine did.
Well I don't have to worry about that anymore. Use to be annoying. But then again, it's just one of those things that 240 owners go through.nismobenzo wrote:i use a hammer-doesnt budge
I dont actually lift with my key, just with the key in it . . . sorry, poorly explained on my partAZ89two4Tsx wrote:
But yeah, idk why you would have to lift it with your key. That could easily break the lock. Just fit your fingers in between the hatch and the taillights.
Wicked, thanks for the info. I will give this a shot next weekend when I get to drive my car for the 1st time this year!pauldthen wrote:Alright so I'mma put it to you like this. My car has been rear ended before. And I had the same problem with everything that you explained. I had to have someone open the hatch for me. After I got my frame pulled, I also fixed the latch in the back. To adjust it so it would pop again. Simple fix. Just play with a few bolts back in the hatch where it meets the latch to pop. You should be able to find the problem. Could be that the hatch is misaligned with the latch causing it not to pop open like factory standards. Hope this helps!
Haha and if another 240 guy seen this he would just laugh and know EXACTLY what is going on. Too funnypauldthen wrote:Funny how ppl on this thread used their IPODS, glass case, and anything to hold up that darn lever. Personally I used my remote for my Pioneer head unit. Worked like a charm. Use to piss me off tho when I would wedge the remote there and my door would slam shut and smack the remote outta place. I was like . Ppl would look at me and be like what is he doing???? Seriously, felt like my car was playing games with me.
Exactly the same way for me. I tried for weeks to figure out the problem, and one day I pulled the lever and it went POP. I love when problems fix themselves like that.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:I used to have this problem but it mysteriously went away, lol. Like seriously it just started working one day.
exactly how i fixed mine. Thanks for describing it so well I was lazy lol.RustspecS13 wrote:Yeah there are two 10mm's holding the part where the latch locks against. Just move it down a little and it'll pop up. You just gota remove the plastic trim in the way. No biggie.

Probably wrong key or the key latch from the inside is messed up or jammed. Open your hatch peep inside and see if you can't loosen it up with some WD-40. Solves everything!Brent.S14 wrote:How about my latch doesn't work, and when I got to use my key, it doesn't turn the lock. Wtf is up with that?
S14's are sex on wheels. Reminds me so much of an R33. The front end is sleek. I definitely would be satisfied with an S14. A 240 is a 240. WORD!!!night240 wrote:I kinda sort of miss my hatch, but now I'm s14 ownernot easy to work with
my s14 sometimes.
