hey whats up man? anyways about the wheels and off set here is the deal the off set is how far away the center of the wheel is from the front of rear of the rim. - offset means the center of the rim is behind the face of the rim and + offset means the center of the rim is in front of the face of the rim. simply what i did was put the wheels on then measured how far they were from the lip of my fender then got that size of spacers.

dont know if that makes any sense but it does and my head lol..... good luck man let me know if i can help.

^^ heres a pic to help understand what he's saying...

OP:

17x8 +39 is pretty huge dude..

for the sake of flushness... I'd run a 30mm spacer up front and a 25mm spacer in the rears... that makes the effective offset a 17x8+9 and 17x9+14...

but that's just for the sake of flushness...

if you're not concerned about the look, I'd get at least a 15-20mm spacer up front so that it won't contact/ rub on your suspension. The rears should fit without spacers. Its the front struts you need to worry about, which is usually the common issue in regards to fitment.

so your saying 30mm spacer so its flush to the front fenders and rear quarter panel...so would a 25mm spacer be good for flushness!? or would the 30mm be the best? hey adrian thanks for the help bro!!!

or you can do 30mm all around.

but, ykno, flush is subjective. It varies on camber and what tire size you use (stretch or square).

But that size spacer will at least bring the wheels out toward the fenders, so at least they won't look like theyre hiding from the sun, lol.

the reason i dont want to roll the fenders is because of all the body work ive been doing to the car! but i'll see when the time comes...thats why i want to get my coilovers and 5 lug conversion done before i paint the car just in case if i have to modify. but i just looked at a topic you posted on...so your saying just flaten in the lip thats in the fender not actually pull the fender out!

lol.. I used a hammer and just started banging away. Bang upwards first... then outward, kinda like you're trying to create the fold to make it as flat as possible.

I think the only issue you might have is the passenger rear fender... its kind of thick on the side. You'll just need to spend more time on it.

those will fit your car no problem.im running a set of falkens with +42 offset and they fit fine.dont run a spacer unless you have to, if you do have fitment problems (dont know why you would) then run a small spacer, like 5mm. theres no need for 30mm spacers.my .02

Dude with a +42 offset on a 240, it may clear everything but you must have sunken battleship syndrome. S chassis +42 offset = FAIL

I have 2 pics for ya

1st is 17x8 +40.

2nd is 17x9 +19, you can defiantly see the difference

hey, I got your email man.

Since you said you wont be super dropped, you should be fine with those sizes. Just know that without camber (from the drop), at stock height or at a very subtle drop, they might look like they stick out a bit, but nothing too crazy.

overall, you're good to go with those sizes... I'd prefer maybe a 245 in the rears max though... but that's my personal preference

hey thanks adrian and im going to lower the car with coilovers but it wont me as dropped as some of the other cars i've seen here...and the reason im keeping my rear tires is because they're like new and they are pirelli tires so i was hoping i can still use them...will i still have to roll the rear fenders though?

if you want there is a good website called http://WWW.WHEELMASTERS.COM, then click on wheel/tire comparer and there you can input info on your cars stock tire sizes and then the aftermarket tire sizes even with offsets and it will give you detailed info on 'what when how' on your future tire/wheel upgrades. try it out.
