Due to recent issues with smog check failing, I've decided to throw in the white towel.

On Saturday, through the gov "clash for clunker" program, I've got a new car. The good news, it's still with in the Nissan family. Bad news is I will miss my Q served me well for 202,000 miles.

The Q has given me problem every year. We are expecting a new baby so no longer have the time and $$$ to work on this car anymore. Last year, I've put in new OEM coils. Recently put in new TPS. Too bad those new parts are going to waste/junk.

I want to say thank to everyone here for all those help I've been received. This site has been the best resouce for me to turn to...learn quite a bit about cars.

What did I get? It's a special car for sure. I have to say is an extreme oppposite of Q. Gonna have to make you guys guess now.

I am still in the Infiniti family or fan of Nissan. We still have our 05 G35 in pristine condition.

Hmmmm....early check out for a FYG33, But problems every year says at least something wasn't done correctly.

Good luck on your new purchase. The depreciation is running..........

Congratulations on the new car and hopefully it won't require much of your time for repairs and maintenance so that you can spend that time with your new baby.

Did you buy a Cube?

You guys can read my mind. I guess all Q owners think a like.

Yes, we got the Cube...a car only a mother can love. This car grows on me and is most practical thing on the planet. So far every one I know tells me the car is ugly.

I don't care!!!!

My wife told me last nite if she knew I have such bad taste, she wouldn't have married me. We are actually expecting our first child soon, so definately like the utility of the car. My wife can get in and out with ease. The dools are wide perfect for placing child in carseats.

We drove to SF over the weekend with stop an go traffic. First estimat was 30MPG. (vs 20mpg on Q).

Definately gets a lot of attention and makes me feel young again. I have to start listening to more hip music now to blend in with those 20 year old.

My Q:Didn't mean to say it breaks down every year. Meant for the last few years only which is expected for such hi mileage car/hi tech car. Prior to those years, this car has been smooth and trouble free. That was my dream car when I was in college...weird for college age kid.

Just read a newspaper review of the Cube this morning, overall positive except they say it is horrible at highway speeds with crosswinds due to its boxy shape

You Cash for Clunker'd a Q??!#3

You aught to be punished. I'll bet there are lots of people who are having problems with their Q's that could have used all those new parts you put on there. If you were having problems every year than you're doing it wrong.

Just my .02.

Cash for clunkers = Fail

They just inflate the price of the cars and than your CFC credit lowers it to the normal price. In reality all of us who buy new cars get to pay a little extra for our cars so when people crush their cars they can get a little tax credit. . . which means we are all paying for parts that we need to be destroyed. . . nice hu?

Gotta love ol' uncle Sam.

The new Qube looks like a 4 seat version of the StupidCar For2.

I try to always pass such devices at least 90 mph so I can watch them wiggle in rearview mirror.

Only 30 mpg? Maybe when gas is $10/gallon. Maybe.

Change is good. The Cube is perfect for running around town. You still have backup for longer trips.

007, I'm glad you're happy with your purchase - you're the only one you need to please here.

That said, I think we should establish a new policy on the forum... Any owner who sends their Q to the CFC program must give us all a chance to scavenge the non essential parts off of it... It just has to be in "running condition" right? We could even have an exchange program... "send me your intermittant MAF for my good one" - no Q45 should go to the crusher with an intact radio, good speakers and amplifiers, a working FPCU (ground it and run it in high to the dealership), etc.

If the two weeks notice is not given, let the flamefest begin !

Heath
