you should try to trade that hood for one with no vent, and get the uras hood louver and stick it on further back. thats my master plan anyway. iirc that vent is in a stupid place on 240s, like right over the radiator if im not mistaken.

your car probably handles better than mine regardless of the fact that ive probably put way more cash into it, haha! lovin it chet

Charlie: the vent sits just far enough back you can feel hot air come out of it when the electric fan turns on, so I'm happy with it I would like it to sit about 2" further back though, the only problem with this idea is that water could get on the pulleys if it weas left out and rained enough :/

Yeah, I love the way it handles. Doing the math paid of in spades on it, as a few of the SEDA guys can attest. The PS2's are sick grippy, and matched spring rates and shock dampening make for smooth, but quick transitions. Also the slightly lower front v. rear stance helps remove the slight bit of understeer it had, not I can feel the front push just a tad before I feel the outer rear start to lose grip if I put more throttle into it...very nice and predicatable.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

It's still a work in progress. Hopefully I'll ge tthe C/F fenders and such put in next month, allong with the solid rear subframe and Battle Version rear link setup...mmm...

have to say ive always liked the look of black on red. the alfa's in the touring car championship pull it off quite well. another look ive always liked on the s13 is when the roof is painted black in combination with the carbon hood and possibly a black trunk lid or wing, any plans for the paint job? impressive list of mods btw, ill know who to ask when i go to build my na ka =)

Yeah, the roof will be sprayed black....

C/F front fenders are in the list to do, as well as 11.1-1 pistons (custom spec if I can get them made, otherwise it'll be 10.7-1)

the trunk is C/F, so it's black too :pYeah, hit me up on the NA KA, I can tell you what to buy and what not to waste your money on...

-Chetyes, the pic is with the RS*R springs

So even with the upcoming adjustable pillowball arms, you plan to stay with teh RS*R down springs and KYB AGX? I'd like to drive something like that and compare it to the typical 240 with stiff jdm coilovers, staggered wheels/tires, and adjustable arms. Do you still have your full interior? You seem serious about weight reduction...

Yeah, I like this spring and shock setup, with the Bars, and the upcmming pillow mounts, it's more than stiff enough.

No interior from the B pillar back...I stripped that out long ago :p All that's back there is some wiring to the lights, my battery, the rear STB and some of the 'hard' insulation...

the 370ccs were more of a "going to need" when I get the engine build kind of thing, and helped a bit with keeping injector duty low with the cams and stuff. the S-afc let me tune out 4-8hp across the powerband before the cams, only a few more after (like 1-2)...

Overall, I'm happy with it...

If you're in atlanta, I may be taking people for rides at the Gwinnett county fairgrounds event...

ACtually, once I get a weekend free, I'll be removing the A/C system and seighing it, so I'll know for sure.

My bet is around 2400lbs....

Chad says 2300-ish....

We'll see. It's about 100lbs from the hood, hatch, and drivershaft, pulley, etc alone... I have no idea how much the damned A/C weighs.

Drag strip time is comming....I'll post the ET/Time-Chet

Your rejection of the usual 8 kg F/6 kg R JDM coilovers in favor of the softer of RS*R's spring offerings and mass market adjustable shocks continues to blow my mind...you have a very cool and different s13.

I'll be in ATL in spring again, and hopefully I'll be able to pick up another S14...no more retarded stupid 20 year old with first car crashes into a cliff experiences AutoX and HDPEs only from now on.

Chet, wow, I look at your mod list and all I see is an impressive list of "I wants" for my car..I can't remember you ever talking in depth about your car. Why'd you wait so long!?!?

Smith: same reason you don't really talk in depth about yours...it's never really finished!

I just got a nice bump in pay at werk..should provide for lots of stuff shortly...

Also, If I saw your list, I'd probably have an equal ammount of "I want"s....haha

Thanks for the compliments all. The work continues!

Also, smith..I'm sure you knw this, but I'll throw it out anyways..

Nitto is owned by Toyo...its why you can't carry -both- for retail selling...go figure. It

One of Chet's better personal features is that he believes in practicality.

Chet, given what I yanked out of my S14 ... I'd estimate your car to be in the 2400 range if not high 2300's.

My goal for the coupe is 2400 lbs. w/o getting too far into it, this time I have a 100 lb. advantage with the chassis alone.

ACtually, I dropped 10lbs off my own frame in the past 4 weeks...

Alan- Yea, I'd love to see it sit around 2300lbs..I'm not really done yet, obviously. If I could get it to 2200..that's be uber sweet. Thanks for the compliment man.

is this your street car? have you considered gutting the door panels, cutting out the speaker deck, things of that nature?
