ok car is a 90 s13 with an rb20det swapped in, went on a long cruise today with my car club, then go out for a beer after, left the car and got a ride in my buddys car. come back and the car wont start, cranks but no fire. fuel pump is priming, so check and it has spark, pull cas and spin it, injectors DONT click.. use a noid light and no dice, sprayed ether in just to see and it fired, anyone have any ideas?? need to get the car home! thanks

Sounds like your CAS is bad.

Ok, the cas has been making grinding noises for a couple days, and is rough to turn.

would it have spark and no fuel if it the cas, does the ignitor control injectors????

CAS controls the injectors, if you have fuel pressure but the injectors are not firing then it is a CAS issue, whether it be the CAS itself or a wiring problem.

Check your injector wiring, the injectors share a switched 12v+ once you turn your ignition on the injectors have power, the injector driver switch the ground.

If you have spark than cas is fine, and if you have spark then ecu has power, so we can eliminate the ecu and cas.

Use a volt meter and see if you are getting power to each injector.

Check to make sure that you have a good ground, you should be seeing full voltage at the injectors not just 8v. Check all your wiring and let us know how that goes.

ive got a ground kit and the grounds for the injector harness are clean and good, not sure why its 8v but tried swapping relays too wiring all looked good.

Any more ideas, theres a few people we've talked to in the area who are knowledgable and still no luck.

if it's wiring start with the eccs relays. Check for power. Then check wiring. Once thats done. We can look into pulse voltage from the ecu. After that you need to check those signals from the ecu to the cas plug. That is the whole system. Except for the grounds to the fuel injectors themselves.

I have the same problem...I have spark but the injectors arent spraying. I checked the plug that goes on the injectors and the grey wire give 12V but the signal wire from the CU give 0.03V. I know this is to low but what could the problem be?
