have silvia can it be Registered

Traded g35 for s14 need help on how to register in california. have seen some threads started but have seen no real good advice on how to do it. Know a few have been done would like to know how they did theirs. Would do a sr20de N/A swap if I had to or a vq but not a ka. Don't care if this would be a grey market car just need it legal enough not to be taken by 50 Would prefer to keep it SR so I could just swap DE to DET for smog

Ok anyone know where I can get a cheap s14 striped down shell that rolls with a clean title that I can trailer home to put all the Silvia stuff on to. Im getting no help here so I assume this is the best route to go. Im in Sacramento California if you live out here and have a cheap shell with a good title or know someone that dose hit me up, or have them hit me up.

Pretty much at this point you got screwed for trading a G35 for a S14, if thats true. A good place to look for a S14 is sacramento.craigslist.org, check it out. What would put on it from the 'silvia' its pretty much the same car.

Call me crazy I like the Silvia better than the G35. It was to flashy not my thing. I don't need leather or sun roof hell I usually rip out the AC in cars I buy and they are lucky if they don't get the interior gutted. Rolling on a temp tag need to get a US S14 and transfer parts over ASAP. The previous owner of the Silvia started the California registration process so at least I have the temp tag. Posted an ad on Sac Craigslist tonight .If you run across a shell $1000 or less hit me up Thanx

Yeah for sure its a pita to register stuff like that...fyi I do know that s13 jdm cars will start coming here pretty soon.....legal. there is a cap on how new cars have be to go through all the testing and crap.

I understand it's for the strict safety standards and emission standards the US has in place but the Silvia and 240sx are the same cars you would think some USDM bumpers, lights and you would be good to go. The SR20DET burns as clean or cleaner than a Ka24de had mine checked at a friends shop he said it met the standards for the sniffer test. But they still wont allow it in legally. I know people get them registered just not how they get it done, so I will get a USDM shell and transfer the parts over to have a car I like.
