I use to own a toyota and i was raised in a toyota. What the hell is wrong with me! I am not suppose to like nissans but... I DO :oface

I think its the fact toyota is becoming boring. They are not what they were in the 80's and 90's.

Got you beat, own a Nissan, a Toyota, a Mazda and a Honda. Don`t lock yourself into one marque out of some strange sense of loyalty. Blonde girls, Brunette girls, redhead girls, heck bald chicks, if they got the performance I`ll drive em :)

well its not that. Just to me all these japanese companys beyond nissan seem boring. I look at toyota and they don't give a damn. As long as old people buy their cars they could careless.

I hear that mazda is comming out with a awd tt version of its mazda 6

I dunno i need to work on a combustable water.

I hate to break it to you but Nissan is getting flaky too. Economy sells and bigpower cars are becoming an anacronism. :(

My kids are going to be tweaking belt-driven fuelcell cars it appears. I`ll miss the smell of hi-octane and shift-fireballs:sad

THANK YOU! If I have to hear one more johnny come lately say "the 30 and the 31 look identical" I shall have kill them. 31 was crazy ugly and I am not too fond of the 33 either.

Skylines skip generations I guess. I do like the way the 33 threw the battery in the trunk.

See I am really not a Nissan fan. I really don't like Toyota either. To be honest, I am a Mazda fan and a Honda fan. BUT Nissan and Toyota build great stuff, so one has to respect them. I had a list of cars that I would buy and which ever one came along first would be the one. Just happend to be a clean-ish S13. I really wanted a EF CRX Si, BP6, EG6, or another FC3S, but the S13 was on the list as well.

I had a Smithsonian science kit when I was a kid. That thing was cool.

To give Toyota a little support...the Scion tC looks real intersting...esp. the supposed supercharged version that'll come out sometime later...I dunno why but the Scion tC seems to kinda hit me as a FWD 240...

Well, apparently Toyota is giving the Volta the greenlight.

I think I could go for a fuel efficient supercar.

Nissan is bleh right now too though, not quite as boring as Toyota due to the SE-R's and G's though.

Check that R35 concept video... Nissan is not Bleh right now... it makes me speechless :). I would drive almost any nissan that is out right now. 05 Alti, Max, SE-r Spec V, 350z, Titan, Armada..

Answer is to your dark side question is no. As an owner of both, I can safely say both are great but in different ways. Toyota's are a bit better made, but Nissan's are more fun to drive.

I wouldn't say toyotas are boring. I agree they took a big step back with the newest generation MR2, but the newest Celica GTS is actually pretty nice. IMHO toYota's overdue for the next generation Supra.

or the 5000GT!

that thing looks so sweet...

(it's what everyone thought the next Supra was, I know I don't have to mention what the 2000GT was to anyone;))

From driving both the Nissan and Toyota pickups (mid to late 90's trucks), the Toyota's are a lot beefier and better made. This fact made me decide to go with a Tacoma, and not the Nissan truck and due to the fact that every Nissan I found was rusted in the same spot. I'm a proud new owner of a Toyota.

I don't think the ZZW30 is a step back from the SW20 at all. Just the evolution of the marque. The SW20 was a great car that suffered early on from poor suspension setup, and was a demamding drive at the limit (lift off oversteer is SCARY). The MR-S is a car along the spirit that drives the BP6 and anything from Blackpool or Colin Chapman's mind: light, useable, nimble, and complete. Damn near anyone can strap into a ZZW30 and be qucik. Sure, no turbo and light on the power side, but that is what made Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda who they are today: little power in a competent chassis. Need I remind you of cars like the S30, TE27, AE86, SA22C and many other before and since that have benefitted from light weight and razor handling (for their respective days). Just cuz you can't make 600hp on a 1ZZFE the same as you can on a 3S-GTE (which is IMHO the BEST 2.0L ever made, being slightly better than the Japanese variants of the 4G63T) does not mean you can discount it as a lesser car.
