Hello all,
I just recently purchased a 2008 M45X as my daily vehicle.
This is my 4th Infiniti (3 G35s) and 5th Nissan product (R35 GT-R).
I am looking to replace my tires with some All Weather tires.
I found a set of 235/40R19 at a very good price and wonder if anyone use this size instead of 245/40R19.
I know the difference is only 1% but wonder if anyone has real life experience on 235 tires on their vehicle.
Thank you for your input

I don't get why you want a smaller tire? Less traction, less sidewall, less stability and handling? That results in 1.5" smaller circumference than stock. If you are looking for a good value for tires, use Tire Rack online. They ship for free and arrive in a day or two - either to your home or the tire shop of your choice. I also recommend you stick to 245/45/19 for size. They are listed here on the tire rack site: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.js ... &tab=Sizes
I upgraded to all-season 255/40/19 and couldn't be happier. The difference in grip, braking, handling, and wet performance is night and day. I would recommend Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 tires - great tire, long tread life, low noise, and very reasonably priced. I've used them and was quite happy. I've gone back to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's but was quite happy with the S1 noble2. Here is an old advert:

Thank you for your input.
However, you have the wrong size.
The proper size of 19" should be 245/40R19 not 245/45R19.
The overall diameter on 245/40R19 is 26.72" VS 235/40R19 is 26.4"
235/40R19 radius is 0.16" shorter than 245/40R19 and difference is -1.18% which is still the safe zone.
The size you running 255/40R19 is also +1.18% difference as well
The reason why I want to get 235/40R19 is because I have more options on all weather tires.
The Hankook you mentioned is a good 3 season tires but they don't perform that well in light snow.
I am looking to get a set of all weather to handle light snow in Vancouver, Canada which is better fit than ordinary all season.
Tirerack shows 235 tires as an alternate tires size for winter/snow tires so I am looking for someone with first hand experience.
But thank you for your input.

This may come a little late, but are you sure you have 19" rims? I assume you can read the tire size on the current tires, so no offence intended!! The reason I ask is that the 2008 M45 RWD Sport came with 19" rims and 245/40R19 tires, but the M45X AWD was OEM equipped with 18" rims and 245/45R18 tires. I know because I drive a 2008 M45X. It's always possible someone switched to the 19" rims at some point, but thought I should point it out, at least for future reference.

I bought a set of 19" rims to put on my 08 M45X and I went ahead to puchase a set of 235/40R19 Vredestein Quatrac 5.
Vredestein is not that popular in North America yet but they are very popular in Europe.
I have ran multiple sets of Vredestein tires on different cars even my R35 GT-R.
Vredestein is a very good brand for its value.
But thank you for the reminder.

Thanks for the update.
Yes, I've heard of Vredestein, but never used them. The car originally came with Goodyear Eagle RSA tires, which were terrible for tram-lining and hydroplaning in the rain. It was a much-discussed issue here on the forums in the early years of the M35 and M45.
Because of our climate, I prefer the slightly higher profile, high-performance, all-season tires that fit the 18" rims. Plus, I have the upgraded chrome rims from the Touring Package, so not interested in giving those up!
I am on my third set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires (currently the 06 version) and love them. Great dry, wet and snow performance and decent longevity and no tram-lining!
