A buddy and I just picked up a parts car last night. I will get pics up tonight when i get home. It really sucks we can't get a title for it as it is in pretty damn good shape. Oh well that just means my car gets some nice new leather and my buddy gets some much needed bodyparts. It is a 97 black 240sx it is badged as an se but has tan leather interior and the door panels are 2tone black with tan leather inserts. It should go really well in my silver car! The car had been sitting for a while with no back glass so the rear upper seat is pretty damn driedout and starting to crack. The fronts are pretty dry but still in decent shape. Does anyone know a good method to bringing the seats back to thier original beauty. I dont' want to apply something that will make them crack worse. Or an idea of what it costs to have them recovered? P.S. it also had an unbroke radio trim with factory cd player and black uncracked dash! I don't think i have seen that in person!

lots of leather conditioner. re-upholstering will be pricey. i haven't gotten a quote yet, but i've talked to furniture upholsterers and they all told me that they wouldn't touch car seats with a 10 foot pole.

i'd just wipe them down with a damp rag then massage some conditioner into them. my leather has seen much better days, but it's not a priority right now so i just do what i can to keep them from getting too much worse.

Hmm, looks like an aftermarket cover on them already (especially given the door inserts).

bart said the same thing, but i've seen one red kouki with tan leather in person (same door inserts) and this will make the second one i've come across online. sales brochure pics show tan leather and inserts...

http://issuu.com/240sxone/docs...=true

i would say that it's just extremely rare.

Interesting, crazy S14s. I wouldn't want leather though anyway, even had it in S13 briefly (there was a waste of my money for a few months).

The funny thing is that I was planning on getting a quote to have tan leather put in my car by an upholstry shop. I was talking about this 2 weeks ago with my buddy then we came across this car. this is for sure oem nisssan. The door panels hadn't been off and they still have nissan markings on them. They acutally cleaned up really nice. I wonder how many of the s14s came with this interior option? I have to pull and swap dashes next the black car has a perfect dash.

are you kidding? A clean car with a clean leather interior is the sex! Or are you a fan of the tacky print on the middle sections of the factory s14 seats?lol

Also, the leather in these cars cant add but 5lbs tops. There is hardly a diff in seat weight, if any at all. My leather bimmer seats are monsters compared to these things. Seriously, my front bimmer seat is alteast 50lbs, these are like 20 tops

some people just don't want to deal with the maintenance, slipperiness, heat retention, etc. that you get with leather seats. it's all personal preference. i love my leather, i also love that i don't have that

Yeah, i'm like you. Tinted windows and a little leather conditioner every couple weeks is definetly worth it.

By the way Fiznowlers seats are coming out GREAT! We will for sure get some more pics up. What a find!!!

I went to the interior shop with my cloth seat from my 240 and the leather one. He suggested that i recover the cloth one becuase the other one was pretty dry around the stitching. I may try and condition it for now and slap it in there till i decide. He suggested that i use vinyl instead of leather due to price and durability. He said i wouldn't be able to tell the difference but i am still undecided if that is what i want to do. I know i won't ever have anyone back there anyway so i am kinda undecided. He quoted $175 to recover just that top piece in high quality vinyl and this is a very reputable shop around here.

my backseat used to be perfect, but recently i noticed 2 rips, causing a flap. pissed me off. 175 doesn't sound too bad. i wonder what a front seat would cost, my d/s is in horrendous shape and the passenger seat is showing its age. tbh, i don't think i'd be opposed to vinyl if it's cheaper but more durable with the same look/feel.

175 is just the upper fold down rear seat part. I think i am going to do that. The complete interior i was quoted 12-1500 for all high grade leather to oem specs. I will prob do this later on but right now i have alot of other things i would rather put the money towards. The rest of the seats are all in pretty good shape. there is wear on the drivers bolster and a small hole/tear in pass seat but other than that in pretty good shape. My friend Mad Hatter on here and I have been cleaning and snapping pics of the progress and posting em up on here. The parts car is starting to look pretty naked after only 1 evening of stripping she is such a slut.

This one needs a TINY bit of work and needs filed for lost title, but its a Texas car (no rust)http://dallas.craigslist.org/f....html

This one is perfect, but high pricedhttp://dallas.craigslist.org/d....html

I picked mine up last week for $2800. Interior is perfect, runs great, needs mucho bodywork.lol They are out there, just few and far between
