So Im set to deploy here soon, and i just recently found out ill be the driver of this half million dollar, lifted on dubs, bullet magnet...


For the sake of scale...


My question is, what kind of power inverter do i need to buy to power a computer speaker system and charge an ipod at the same time using a 12v DC cigarette lighter port, theres only one in the matv

You don't need an inverter unless you are powering something with AC electricity. Since everything you listed is DC powered, get an adapter and voltage transformer.

See, those black boxes with cords that power those devices are already AC -> DC inverters, why would you want to invert from DC -> AC -> DC again? That's just wasting wattage through heat on what could be powering your devices.

Datte the MRAP does not come euipped with any sort of cigarette lighter to charge general electronics. Zombie, unless things have change in the last few years, all military vehicles run on a 24V electrical system. So depending on what setup your MRAP has you may get lucky and it will have what you need to use charge and run your Ipod and speakers already in place (IE if it is a command vehicle or setup as for commo ops). If not ask the guys in country what they are doing as I'm sure that most of them have their MRAPs setup to allow them to charge their electronics.

BTW what branch of the svc are you and what is your MOS. Good luck and keep your head on a swivel and your finger on the trigger.

Usmc 0311, the mraps have 2 12v dc cigarette plugs and 8 ac wall type plugs, the matv pictured just has 1 12v dc cigarette plug, just wondering what i need to buy to plug in my shiet and bump some zz top while i drive
