Sometime in the past month my car, 91 Coupe se with about 140k? on it (digital speedo has been broke for 2 yrs), has been acting very strangely. After you drive for maybe 20 mins and park, then wait a while and try to start it back up it will not want to start right and the car will start shaking up and down heavily for about 20 seconds. during that time there is a huge power loss, but then all of the sudden it will go back to driving great. Also, about the same time this started acting up, another problem shows itself. After you drive for awhile, the engine will start making a loud but deep whooooshing noise, like something blocking the path of fast moving air... it would do that out of the blue, and then it would go away for awhile. but it never did it during the first drive of the day. Are these symptoms somehow connected?

Any thoughts you guys have is appreciated. Thanks in advance. I have replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter and still have problems...

Vacuum lines maybe?.. I had something similar in a Jeep Cherokee one time. It ended up being just a bad hose fitting.

Well guess what? it was the fuel pump... it died on me last night and wouldnt start. pulled the hose off of the fuel filter and put the car to on and no fuel would pump out. so i guess i am going to get a new fuel pump... is there anything to gain by getting a bigger fuel pump than the stock one right now? all i have so far in mods is intake and exhaust...
