Well, this is my first tank on the 240(just got my liscense) and i am down to a 1/4 of a tank with 205 miles on the trip meter. Now my question is, how many miles do you normally go on a tank? I know these gas gauges are screwy, so I am just curious how far i can go. I live in FL, very flat roads and I am normally easy on teh car. I never run it past 5500, since there is no power after that anyway. BTW its a 5 speed. And also what grade of gas do you guys use. The books and label on the gas cap door say premium. So if that's what it takes, then i guess i'll fill her w/ premium(93 octane). Thanks for all the help....

I only use 93 octane. Tired 87 once and the car almost exploded. bI get about 325 miles per tank from full to bone dry.

Lotsof stop and go driving in the MD/DC area so that may have a bit to do with it.

I don't even go above 4700 rpms. Don't know how other guys get 400+ miles.

Also, there is another thread on the mail page about gas. Check it out.

If you drive semi-normally, and keep to the highway, it's real easy to get 400+ miles out of the S14 before having to fill up.

When I was still running the KA, I never had to fill it close to it's 17 gallon capacity, and I was still getting over 400 miles a tank. Now I'm getting about 360 miles a tank with the SR installed.

thanks for all the input, i can't do this test though until hurricane season passes . I have to keep it full in case I have to get out of here. But i hope i can get some good mileage. I had my car for 2 months before i got my liscense, so i had it ideling a lot while working on it. I then put 4 gallons in it and had 27 mpg with all that ideling in my driveway, so i hope i can do better this go around. But at the moment i cant chance it since gas lines get long if a hurricane decides to come my way. That would suck having 400 miles on the trip meter and the town be outta gas with me needing to get out of town But thanks again for all the input and id like some more just to get an average.

ya i run 87 too, no problems at all... previous owner did too

I usually get around 300 before i fill it up, but shes not empy at all. Ive never seen the gas light glow at all (i didnt even know their was one till recently) and my gas gauge itself had been stuck on full for about a year after the first drift event, but recently came loose and it works again. I just play it safe

Last full tank i got about 300 and that was with alot of messing around and carrying alot of weight.

What is up with our gas gauges? The needle stayed at full after a full 200 miles...
