Ok, cut it out, this isn't the USSR. He isn't entitled to pay out any profits to anyone. In addition, if he's never really driven the car, but purchased it purely to re-sell it, then he's no more an "owner" than your average used car dealership.
There are some cars that are just worth more than KBB, routinely. If someone sells me, say, an AE86 for KBB (like $500), and I turn around and sell it for $3000 (not unlikely), I am not taking advantage of anyone. I'm just exploiting a mis-pricing in the market, bond traders do it every day.
He's just doing what all used car dealerships do, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's called capitalism, and it's why you don't speak Russian and work in an iron sewer grate factory and eat cabbage every day.
