Hi!

I've loved my 2008 Versa hatchback for about eight months now. Great car. Only problem is, when I drove to work today, I noticed the door ajar light come on.

Once I parked, I tested different doors, and found the problem in my hatchback. Only problem is, I can't open it to reclose it, and can't close it completely. Once I lock my Versa in preparation to leave, I have to lean on the hatch to make sure all the lights go off, so I'm not stuck with a drained battery.

I know there's a way to use the rear hatch release lever, but does anyone know if you can close it afterwards? I'd like to be able to close it securely. I've made an appointment with the service department, but since I live in the middle of nowhere, it's a long trip to be making with a floppy hatchback.

Any thoughts/advice are greatly appreciated!

Try the search button above to search this forum on that. I seem to remember a thread a few months ago on this same issue.

Thanks, Knightro2! I found the topic you were referring to, and it sounds a lot like mine. Think I'll just wait on opening it and take her down to the dealership on Friday.

(Someone suggested cold temperatures were the problem - I doubt it. My hatch opened and closed all winter long through -20 F weather. It's a little nippy out today, but loads better than in January.)

Reading the manual I saw that you can open the hatchback from inside the car, by folding down the seats and using a handle located somewhere in the bottom... After doing something like that, it says you should take the car to a Nissan Dealership so they can check on it...

Hope this helps...
