Hey guys, i have a 1990 240 hatchback, when i open the hatch, it will stay up for about 2-3 sec. but then it will just slam shut, it gave me a nice bump when i first found out. if anybody also has or had this problem and or knows what to do about it, I would really appreciate a reply.

I have the same problem... I think that the only way to fix it is to buy new hydraulics. Not sure how much they cost, but I wouldnt think they would be too bad.

Go to NAPA and get replacement shocks for the hatch.

You need new struts for the hatch. If you are on a budget, don't go to the NISSAN store. They range from $75 to $150 each. Shop around at the aftermarket parts stores.

I have the same problem, each strut costs about $20 online . You can find them at many parts sites and I have attached a link to one of them.

go buy a pair of vise grips and clamp them on the lift support so it won't compress
