Hatch Problem

Ok so my hatch is stuck shut and I can't figure it out. I even tried pulling on the cable manually and it still won't release. Can I just unbolt it maybe and try to fix it that way? It was a progressive decline in it working. In the beginning, I had to hold the lever open while opening the hatch because the guy before me bolted it up wrong. So I rebolted it and it slid down again after a month. So I figured it be fine for a while til I could get somebody to hold it up for me. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The cable may have gotten disconnected. Take the lock out and check it out, same thing happened when I had my hatch.

How did you get the lock out with the hatch stuck closed? The cable still has tension cause I pulled it by hand so I figure if I got disconnected it wouldn't have tension but you have more experience than me so more description would be great. Thanks for the fast response
