More often than not, the release for this folding seat is inside the trunk itself.marleyfan wrote:I agree. The sedan looks like every other sedan on the road. At least the hatch has some distinctive styling. As for the separate trunk, I havent checked the features on the Versa sedan but on many sedans the trunk is accessable via a fold down split rear seat. Kind of defeats the purpose of a separate lockable trunk.
I think that depends on the year and company of car. I've only driven one car where that was the case.. a rental Malibu.Ever Victorious wrote:More often than not, the release for this folding seat is inside the trunk itself.
That works well if they make the lock mechanism out of metal. I had three different XT's, one the lock mechanism failed and would cause the seat to fold down from its own weight every time you stopped the car, the other two failed and would not unlock at all. They were made of plastic.cireecnop1 wrote:On my 02 Audi the rear seat would lay down I think it was 60/40, it was nice because you could lock the folding seat with the ignition key. keeping the trunk completely secure.
Exactly. And for most new cars, if the seat release is in the cabin, it has the option of being locked with the master door key (which means that the valet key won't unlock it). Unless I'm mistaken, this is the way the current Maxima works (I've only used the folding seatbacks a couple of times, so it's not too fresh in my memory) so I expect the Versa sedan is the same way.Ever Victorious wrote:

I took the picture and I just shot some pictures walking around the car. No pain... Just a appreciation for the finer things... like a Sanoma Sunset Sedan.rwanttaja wrote:I took my V for the recall service yesterday, and they had a sedan parked there.
The picture in COVersa's posting was about the only image I'd seen of the sedan up to then...and its obvious that they took pains to take the picture at the most complimentary angle.
You need to get your glasses checked. and it's a trunk in America... not a boot or a truckrwanttaja wrote:Seen from ground level rear three-quarter view (vs. the elevated point of view in the picture) the truck area looked grafted-on.
