hatch on 2014 pathfinder just closes randomly

the hatch on my 2014 will randomly close. I have read its the hydraulics, but it seems to have more a
reaction to my faub. Im wondering if the battery is going bad so this is giving out a weird signal.

Oh nice, the fob closes the door too? If it's fairly reproducible or at least predictable, you could try pulling the battery out of the remote and leave the door open in the garage or something. If it does, you can at least rule out the remote being the problem.

Also, is it possible the button is getting pushed while in your pocket? My last car had a feature that would roll down the windows if you held the unlock button, which was cool except when it did it overnight while parked on the street

To add to that a bit, you could also try pulling the battery out of the remote for a few days and just use key to get in/out and start the car.
