hatch lights.... on a coupe?

I've never seen it done but the thing that stood out for me on the hatch over the coupe was the hatch tail lights i love them, but i love the coupe body style

So i was thinking of converting the hatch lights for my coupe i know its far from a direct swap involving alot of fabrication.If its possible what would i need?Im thinking cut the rear end out to fit the lights and then sticking the light assembly in and bam or is there more to it than that?

The fact that the hatch lights are like 3x as big as couple lights it will look akward.
