Hatch is leaking water

My hatch is leaking water. It rained all day two days ago and a bunch of water is now where my spare wheel is, is this a common problem and if it is how do i fix it?Thanks y'all!!!

get some new weather stripping from ace hardware. same thing happened to me, and probably 1000 other people.

Check your hatch and see where its leaking at. If you got hit in the rear end your hatch itself might be warped. If your hatch is fine then get some car weather stripping. Do not buy house door / window weather stripping. And replace it. When you install the weather stripping have it come together (other words the two ends that meet up) at the bottom. This will prevent water from leaking through the space between the two ends and into your car.
