My hatch has a spoiler, it looks like poop, it has caused my hatch to rust, its pretty bad, my rear glass is really nice, the tint is really dark and it matches the rest of my titn, I can get a rear hatch that has faded black paint at the salvage yard for about 35 bucks, no spioler and no rust, but the glass isnt tinted at all. Is the rear glass in the hatch encapsulated glass? How hard would it be to swap the glas from my hatch and put it into the junkyard hatch? or should I just go try and get it tinted?

Damn, wish I could find a hatch like that at that price. I'd say buy the hatch and teh have a shop remount the old glass on. You'll have the same tint, no rust and a professional installation.

They sell a carbon fiber hatch somewhere without the glass in it, so I'm sure its possible to get the glass out. Good luck doing that though; and replacing that glass is painfully expensive.

I am currently going through the same problem with my stock foam POS "spoiler". It rusted but didnt really rust the hatch, I just don't know of a shop near by that I trust to bondo or patch up the holes and repaint with matching paint.

I'm content to leave all spoilers off, since it might as well be a bulls eye and all the cops in my area love target practice.

I'm sure a window replacement place would be about $100 to replace it just drop off both hatches. I also ground off all the rust and had my friend weld in some new metal for free and I did the rest of the grinding of the welds and prep work.

oh man, you havent seen under my spoiler, I would need like two 7"X9" plates, and for under $40 for a completely new hatch, Im going to go get the hatch this weekend. You can replace the glass, I knew that, I just didnt know how it is installed like if it has a rubber weatherstripping permanently attatched to the glass, I thought about taking it to school and working on it when I go into the shop were we are allowed to work on our own cars, but they really dont want us working on anything over 11 years old.

Cheaper to get the junkyard hatch tinted.. then deal with replacing glass.....from what someone said, but that someone could of not known what he was doing.... Ask a glass replacement place. You ask nicely they may tell you how to do it yourself....
