HAtch doesnt pop open

Hey, well I'v noticed this since I bought it (89 240sx fastback) but the hatch doesnt seem to pop open, the key doesnt turn in it, and pull the hatch lactch does nothing. Any ideas?

My '90 240SX SE is somewhat the same, when i pull the trunk latch from my driver seat it rarely pops the trunk open, and when i put my key in the keyhole i have to jiggle it around until it turns. Once the trunk is open lately it wont stay up Any ideas?

hmmm thats wierd, soemthings gotta be wrong with the cable linkage goin to your latch. if i were you i just start tearing stuff apart until you find out whats wrong, cuz theres no other way.

Ick just got it and allready rippen **** apart, thanks man I should get my car back from the shop this week I'll try it then.

both of my hatches wont pop themselves open, its a turn the key and lift operation. But your key isnt even turning so somethings jammed or stuck in there. If its like my hood it just needs some WD40 every now and then to pop open.

I did get my grey one to pop open after i put 10"subs in the back. The boxes are just barely tall enough to put some pressure on the hatch and that pops it open. It used to be such a pain.
