Has your alternator failed?

If so, what year was your car and if you know, what model number/make was the alt.? This is for good research and the results may benefit the 240sx community. (I will discuss this as i gather more info)

I already had one fail on me at around 160k (1989). It was a hitachi and had a bad rectifier. Another one I changed in my buddy's car (1990) was another hitachi and another bad rectifier at 120k. Another 89's was at 185k with another bad rectifier and that too was a Hitachi.

Just go to http://www.autozone.com and look up the part for your the 240. That'll be the easiest way to go about it. Will you be including larger amperage alternators too?
