I've been trying to get my car to start for a while now, and I'm running out of ideas. like the title says I have nice big spark, fuel, and correct timing..

now the thing is I think I may be getting TOO much fuel, because the car will sputter and sputter while its being cranked, but it will never completely start. as far as vaccum lines go, I have the butterfly, FPR, and hose coming off the rear of the intake all T'd off, and I hope thats the right way. All other hoses to my knowledge have been hooked up, with the exception of some emission hoses etc.

As of right now, I'm completely stumped.. I know the engine is getting alot of fuel, and I cleaned out my injectors aswell for good measure.. but nothing has made a difference so far.

If I use quick start spray, the car will SORTOF run.. it runs like crap though, and only as long as you keep spraying quick start into the TB.

Any light that someone can shed on this would be appreciated, as I'm totally lost

You have good spark and some amount of fuel. Make sure the fuel is getting to the plugs. You should be smelling lots and lots of fuel if you put your nose to the tail pipe after cranking it for awhile.

Focus on the fuel problem. If your compression is good, it's either too much fuel or not enough.

Too much: injectors mechanically stuck open (I doubt it), ecu problem somehow (is it socketed?)

Not enough: injectors clogged, fuel leak, weak pump, clogged filter.

Try a different ecu.

make sure you have a dropping resistor, that had me stumped for a while.

I had the same problem http://nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=89392

I had a similar problem after putting my CA into Datsun.found the problem to be a bad connection at the 35 year old fuse box not givving enough power to the injectors to open.

You say that it runs if you spray engine start in it?.....wouldn't this mean that your injectors AREN'T giving the motor enough fuel?I did the same with mine.....it would run with engine start only.check that your injectors are opening......take out your crank angle sensor, and turn it round with the ignition turned ON and make sure you can hear them clicking.....they are quite loud without the engine running

small update...

NeedCAforS13 suggested checking to make sure the ignitor chip was functioning properly.. when i removed it and turned it over, i found the plastic backing had been bashed in and there was a rather large gouge in the electronic board underneath, and some of the components had been ripped out..

I know it wouldnt help, but could this be whats keeping it from running??
