I want a skyline real bad too (R34). I have yet been shown proof of a R34 in the states brought in by some of the companies that have said they can get one. I want to see the registration (clearly) with all info. That would make me happy and would help in trusting one of these companies.SirSilvia wrote:you can get it hear no prob, as long as you have the dough.and you can title it too. you have to get a police officer, and certified state inspector to deem it approved. and/or you'll have to take a bunch of pics so your insurance company can see it. somethin like that. I want a skyline soo bad because, I'd have a challenge and have something to work towards. and to prove the people around here that 1. you can do it. 2. I've got a skyline and 3. earn some respect for actually being able to get it done. I have a '89 240sx but getting a skyline would just idk, goin through it all seems worth it for such a great car.I see people put it down and get discouraged, I say lets buy em up from japan and bring em all here. then we could have one helluva skyline crew goin. one thing that bothers me is the insurance for skylines, one place (progressive) runs $4,573/6mo... ouch
i know its a pain, but sooo worth itI live on the east coast in the US. I heard it was hella hard to get done in california-_-StRyDeR-_- wrote:is it really that hard to get a imported car from japan into the US?? (im from australia).
i imported my car myself without going through any companys (and no its not just for anyone to do like i did...its not like a car yard, pick ur car go to the counter and buy it hahaha) i did alot of research but i saved alot of money doing this...if your able to import it yourself i suggest doing so, if you go through a compay remember they will add there little cut ontop of the car price...
once my car was here it was a simple task or getting the paper work done that any other car has to do/get on our roads...
sorry to babble on, but i didnt think it was so difficult for you to import cars into your country....
