I bought it and was wondering if anyone has any useful advice on installation. If you have any pictures of it installed on an S13, that would be especially useful. Thanks!

I know, I know. Not the most quality product, but it will work for the time being.

i had one on my FD but it was a stock mount setup inside the engine bay. couldn't notice much of a change since it was still seeing alot of heat soak :P

I just made some brackets that bolted to the bumper frame and intercooler. Doesnt take alot to support it. Make sure you use steel brackets and not aluminum.

Looks like every other ebay intercooler.

I have one, I would like to go to something that fits a little better in the future.

Seems to work fine for now though.

Cool thanks for the pics. If anybody else has this exact intercooler, please post up some more pics. Particularly of the piping. Thanks.

i been searching for a awhile now and thats probably the best price i seen as far as a kit goes haven't seen too many rb i/c kits that are made specifically for s13/14's unless you go custom $$$$... I'm just not a big fan of the HUGE intercooler

I've just heard that it takes "massaging" to get in. I'm not really "worried" about it, I just want to know how much custom work is involved in getting it to fit right. Thanks for the pics, guys!

After you take the front bumper off its a piece of cake to put on. Takes about an hour.

you guys and your cheap *** intercoolers. once you start pushing any kind of significant boost numbers, you'll see the difference. i first got an ebay kit. switched to a precision core for a week and it was like night and day. it was strong and stayed stong on a hot summer day.

i say dont cheap out, even if its for the time being. do it right the first time and save yourself the headaches.

Switching cores isn't hard. I'll do it later... after I actually do my swap.

Didnt purchase an EBAY intercooler, Mine was custom made!!!! and yes it will show a difference when you start boosting over 15PSI.

I put mine in my car a little over a month ago and haven't had any problems with it. It kinda sucks that the crossover pipe runs like they do, because it does warm up quite a bit. I used aluminum strapping and it wasn't going anywhere.

Thanks. I cheaped out and got 16x8 +0 Sportmax 002's. Running 225/50 tires right now and going to go down to 205/50 in the front, so I can lower the car just a tad more. I also have 20mm fenders in the front.

i also have one of the bigger versions of the ebay dog (4 inch core), and it fits perfect with the s13 front end, but i had trouble with it when it was the stock front.

I know the difference in cores could make a difference, but my question would be how much of a difference?? I’ve always read an intercooler in an intercooler, just am curious if I need to go a different rout if I’m shooting for 500hp?? and how much of a difference would i feel if i changed to somthing else?

sorry but i dont believe you, maybe you've got some type of placebo effect going on because you paid so much more for the precision unit.

I have logs of Air inlet temps on the dyno with the 3" FMIC off of Ebay and I didnt go over 110F......the car made 680rwhp @ 24psi

The XS Power is very cost effective

Andy have you happened to measure the pressure drop across the IC at that air flow rate? Just curious since you've got some hard data behind your arguement.

Bottom line is, yes, there may be some minute differences in the ebay fmic vs a greddy or similar, but its not justifiable by spending an extra 800-900 on them.

I dont have any empirical evidence to show pressure drop, as I only have one map sensor and thats measured after the IC as well as the TB's. I do know that running the 1 bar springs on my tial 44mm wastegates, results in exactly 1 bar of pressure at the map sensor, so I would *guess* that pressure drop is negligible.

Like I keep saying, for 150 bucks you cant beat this FMIC. Look at the rest of my build, I went pretty high dollar...AEM EMS, Full-Race Mani, Tial w-gates, etc.....but if I was confident on saying you could 'get-away' with going cheap on something, it surely would be on this FMIC. Mine was the 24x12x4" 3in/3out unit.

werd, you could buy 5 of these IC's and still not have as much in as a greddy IC... the life of your motor would be over before you even bought 5 of em prolly... cause who do you know that has actually put 80k on a swapped motor...?

Cheap, good IC's FTW.

some of you guys and your Fanboyish, **** disgusts me...
