Hello,
2006 M45 sport

I am working on my rear suspension and while down there I noticed my lower control arm ball joints had the slightest play.
I am talking about the lower pan that holds the spring and connects to the wheel hub on the outer side.
On the inner side it connects to the subframe with a bushing but for sport models it connects to the rear steering rack by a balljoint (makes sense, right?)
For OEM, you obviously have to buy the entire member.
The non-sport part number is 551B0-EG000
The sport part number is 551B0-EG011

Well, Febest has made a balljoint for the sport model, part # NAB-Y50RZ
This ebay listing indicates that they have sold at least 2, and I wanted to know if the user might be in this group. Any feedback on the longevity of those ball joints in our application?

Otherwise, the parts aren't what I'd call bad, and I can reinstall them with no worries. I wouldn't even want to disable the RAS system. It just makes sense to at least attempt a repair while everything is apart.

I would try them, better than buying a whole new arm

Definitely cheaper. I was reluctant based on less than favorable reviews online, but those are from the early 2000s.
If cruzad3r has had good success, I'm in.

I'll reinstall the original arms for now and buy a spare set to put the febest parts in for a quick changeout. For now I'm crunched for time.

3 month report.

I installed the Febest ball joints in my garage and had the car aligned back in March.

They are still holding up fine, the car isn't acting funny from what we can tell.
