Me, and a word of advice, dont do it unless you know ppl at machine shops, since NOBODY sells the exhaust outlet flange for it.. i have mine on a JGS mani. I havent been able to find the flange for it so i guess im gonna have a shop here make mine. also get a different turbo if you plan on running more than 10-12psi since it has cerramic blades.-Paul

edit: its a t3 ex. flange, w/ t28 internals, and has a 6 bolt exhaust outlet flange(very different from SR t25/8s) cerramic blades. oil and water cooled

im using the t3 fittings from jgs, also, the stock rb20 dump is cast(i have that too since i got the whole motorset), but GL finding some1 brave enough to cast weld, its a b**** to weld. and def at the wrong angle(points sideways) if on JGS mani. also, if you go JGS, do not buy their dump pipe and wastegate pipe. its way overpriced and doesnt even come w/ mounting hardware. any exhaust shop could make that for you(given the proper flanges depending on what turbo you use) for under 100 bucks.. easiest bet would just be to pick up the JGS turbo kit w/ their turbo. that will be the least amounts of problems.

on a side note, if the turbo doesnt come w/ all the banjo bolts n fittings. GL finding those anywhere as well, i had to order the misc fittings i needed.-Paul

by the looks of that manifold it does look imposible to get the dump pipe around.. is there any other manifolds that i could use? and btw, what did you do with the external wastegate flange on that mani? did you weld that shut?

I've welded cast, not that hard. Just cut the exit pipe and repostion it...reweld and press on. The Exhaust wheel is inconel, very expensive and very light. The Center section for the turbo is the same for the T25 and the T3, the only differences between the two are the impellar and exhaust wheel and of course the housings,

The exhaust wheel isn't going to fly off like everyone assumes. I ran my Skyline at 14psi for over a year with no issues at all. However it is very small for the KAT. So 10 psi is about as much as you'll want to push with it anyway.

If you want to, buy a cheapo trubo off of EBAY and keep the ball bearing center section of the RB20 and you've just built a ceramic ball bearing turbo.

i guess the ppl at exhaust shops here are lazy :-|. anyways the jgs mani works good, just that the rb20 dump if you have it rewelded isnt long enough. so you;ll have to have some1 make a little midpipe there, which shouldnt cost a whole lot.theres another thread on this forum about sohc turboers, i have a pic of my setup there. should still be on the first page

as far as hp goes, im not really sure, but the sr20 injectors may hold you back, also what intercooler setup do you want to run, along w/ other misc. stuff. like i said i used the jgs t3 lines, but you will need a bigger oil inlet than what comes w/ the kit.-Paul

The SR injectors are a good match for that turbo since both will max out around the same point. The average is 10WHP per psi of boost.

btw, wastegate wise, i used the jgs wastegate, then cut the actuator pipe right where it goes into the actuator, heated, bent, and bolted it down where it holds the wastegate flapper shut.-Paul

like i said earlier, the only hard part is finding some1 to make that exhaust flange. if your buddy is making one for you, see if you can hook me up as well -Paul

just another question..this turbo is giving me a headache lol.. when the turbo is on the top mount, the oil inlet will be on the side, and the outlet on the other side.. at almost a 180 degree across from each other.. will this over flood the turbo? will it flow in and out right? i need to know thanks

You can clock the turbo, loosen the bolts holding the compressor and exhaust housing and that will allow you to turn the center cartridge so the oil fittings are up and down. That is the only position that will work...or atleast get them as close as possible.

Guy i run rb20 sohc-t. There is also a guy on here from UK.Mine at 10 psi laid 220 whp in 3rd, and made my clutch slip in 4th. Its a bit small but **** is it ever responsive. I am using JGP mani since its sohc. And as WD sad cast or not you take it , measure/cut it a few times weldded it and done. I am gonna go with a bigger turbo this summer, but for starters its a decent turbo.

white bunny special but Oem disk.It feels much better now that i worked out my fuel maps and clutch got broken in. Gonna go take a run again soon.

Ps:I remamber how i got mineto fit, the rb turbo elbow just keep the flange and cut the pipe itself about an inch away from the flangre. Grind that inch very well and smooth of groves etc. Now go get urself 90deg mandrel bend from a muffler shop or supply, and exhaust sensor bung. About 2.75" or 3"od or id whichever they got ussally it will be aluminized steel or similar so gring it to clean off coating. Now fit/size/angle by overlaying slightly on the 1" untill u got it how you want it to fit with dp. Spot weld it, use a hammer to get piping as close as possible.Weld the rest and drill a hole for ur bung as desired. Takes about an hour and ur got urself 3"custom fitted elbow.
