lol im bringing a thread back from the dead. the wheels are 18x7 +40 offset. they are TSW catalunas which i actually have for sale lol. the whole set of wheels no tires. $350 plus shipping. the wheels only have about 60 miles on them to and from the transport which then sat inside the transport for the trip to sema =)
Car looks great. nice job. Did you have any issues with the tpms sensors?

actually to my knowledge there hasnt been an issue. the tpms sensor lights been on forever since i got the car lol and from what im understanding its always going off anyhow with most of the other versa owners i have spoken to about this. my car with factory wheels and tires had the problem i took it to the nissan dealer the first day I had the car and they checked it replaced it. i drove maybe 20 miles and it went off again. i gave up on it and took it as a sign of "pay attention"

Did they go as far as replacing the BCM? Cars manufactured before Nov seem to have problems with faulty sensors and BCMs. If they didn't you may want to stop back in and have the V looked at once more.

while looking at all the photos, one question came to mind..deep dish rims..I think a rim with an outer lip would look alot better than that pancake cookie cutter look.. provided it doesn't interfer with the handling or performance of the vehicle, is there a web site that has that information?

One way to get a deeper lip or concave face is to go with a wheel with a lower offset. That is a bit of a trouble with a lot of car owners because when you go with the same width wheel with a lower offset the outter face of the wheel is moved further away from the centerline of the car. That can lead to fender clearance and suspension arm clearance issues.

There are manufacturers out there that make wheels with high offsets and deep dish. They get this with a spoke design that flares towards the centerline of the car as it hits the hoop of the wheel. Axis and motegi come to mind when I think of those wheels. Also 5zigen had a wheel named the typhoon that did the same thing.

You can get high offset wheels now with lip but the lip will be around 1". Lowering the offsets can get you upwards of 3" of lip.

For reference here is my truck:

It sports a 15x8 wheel with a -10 offset. That gets me a serious lip that I love.

Going with a wheel that size might lead to overfenders or flairs to fit on the versa. I don't know though I don't have one yet so all I do is lurk here and learn while I save up my downpayment lol.

How much of a difference if any have you noticed to ride or dynamics of the versa?

I remember seeing that versa online looking for mod ideas....nice pics. Where did you get that grill set up or is it completely custom?

not necessarily does the offset mean the size of the lip, the spokes could curve back in on the rim, giving you a larger lip.

these are the rims I am going to be getting, with a 42 offset, 18" rims, and if I remember right 7.5 wide, the lip is about 2-3 inches deep.

I agree with you. I said so in my post :D

Deep offset can also give you zero dish if the wheel is flat face and the spokes concave or if the manufacturer makes up offset by spacing the surface that mounts to the brake pad like Kosei does.
