Hey look, the kid actually knows something. ^

Platinum and all those other plugs are garbage for a NA KA. NGK is the only plug i use. Ive tried other plugs and i can tell you that they just aren't "accepted" if that's the word you wanna use in our motors.

Heres a good article to read....Ignore the part about the air filter and read about the plugs, if you can. I know its not the best scan job.

No I'm just an idiot, I dont know anything. I hate being right, everyone always thinks I'm wrong. Must be the big words.

BTW slappy, I'm not a bad guy, really. We bump heads alot. I would normally be the guy that helps people, but, some people bump heads and take it offensively.

See, I'm not the one making general assumptions about anything. I voiced my opinion on your statement, nothing more. No, I don't fix what isn't broken, hell, half the time I continue to roll with what is broken anyway due to lack of time and space. However, when it does come time to change something, I may or may not try something new.

For example, my last ignition tune up consisted of NGK plugs and wires. Now, I paid something like 70-80 for the wires. I'm not all that impressed. The resistance was higher than the cheapo 7mm silicon junk that was on the car when I bought it. I tested each new and old wire with a DMM as I changed them. Checked them again later down the road, and the values hadn't dropped any significant amount.

Trial and error. I may try another set of NGK wires just to see if it was a fluke.

Sure, I've been known to be a hypocrite. However, I did not directly say that you were one. I said that your statement was a good example of hypocrisy. Saying that X Company says this, and then directly following with a statement of don't buy into the hype is a pretty damn good example.

This whole conversation has become pretty redundant. I apologize if you feel I have sullied your Nico "Street Credz". Like I said, nothing personal, I would have replied the same to anyone, online or face to face.

Have to say, thats unusual to hear, that a person would put domestic parts in a japanese car. They may fit your application, but I know that Autolite in a Nissan is normally a big NO NO. But if your having good luck with them. By all means, use em.
Well i guess i got lucky. I'm still new to the import world. before this, the only imports i have experience with is Yamaha. And i only used NGK in those. Otherwise I'm a pretty big domestic fan. it's all a learning experience, just gotta stay open minded.

Which brings me to plug wires... right now i'm running Magstar racing wires 8.5mm i think. never heard of the company before when i bought them, so i took a chance but they seem to be working real well for me. Any word on that company? I think the guy told me they started out making wires for use on inboard boats.

The name sounds familiar, but my mind isn't working today. General opinion on here is NGK blues, or OEM Nissan wires. Personally, I would like to start a wire resistance thread, but I don't foresee too many people contributing.

alright heres my final experience, they are very brittle, and break easily when trying to install and taking out. Mine broke twice. They don't run all that well in our stock ka's. I think they are better if used in a newer car 2000+

I just took them out and put in NGK v-power (cheapies) with 8mm performance spiral spark plugs and it runs 10 times smoother and even seems like a small amount of power was released.

NGKS +1

so would you rather pay $25 per plug for NOTHING or $2 per plug for NGK plugs and get better results?

That's great info about the new GTR plugs, I never knew that. I assume because they're business partners, but I hope it's for reasons like TQM. EG: Nissan selects NGK because their total quality management is superior and have a higher reliability while providing the optimum performance.ME-T pwns.

Anything other than NGK.....FAIL.

If you use anything other than I believe its champion plugs in chryslers, u may have a drivability issue. Chrysler engines really like those factory plugs. Speaking from experience, I had a 98 Jeep Cherokee sport and I put, I think it was Bosch's in it and it ran like ish. Swapped them for the factory oem plugs and it ran like it should.
Uhh, I wouldn't try using Bosch plugs in anything that didn't specify them and vice versa. You are speaking of the "side gap" style plugs right? Like the "+4" kind? They are of totally different design, flame front propagation issues, I've been down that road.

We have experienced numerous Champions breaking around the insulator and I've since shied away from them. My Chrysler fleet runs on NGKs quite well.
