I was just riding around in my buddy's SRT4 the other night, and realized it has totally kickass seats compared to the ones in my car. Anyone ever try swapping a pair of those things in? Anyone know where to get them? I just love them. I know its sacrilege, MOPAR parts in a Nissan and all.

Unless you could find and modify a pair for $100 or less it's not worth it, too many other better options.

Those will probably cost a lot from a dealership, and will be very hard to find at a junkyard...

What better options are there for $100 or less, if you don't mind me asking...

Honestly, my fellow NICO bro,

I've sat in the SRT4, and it's not that comfortable. It is a little narrow for me, Im like 5"7 165 lbs. and even then, it's not too great.

I do admit the seats are very nice looking.

I would put them in upon these conditions:

1. If you can get the for Cheap, or Free, or you've already purchased them.

2. If you have a MIG/TIG welder, or can have someone do the WELDING

3. If you are willin to customize.........(meaning, cut a few things, bolt a few things, and measure like hell)

******NOTE*****

OUR 240sx floor pan is NOT flat on the Driver side, Due to the g@y Cat Converter~~~~ SO the SRT4 seat WILL DEFINITELY sit hella HIGH off the ground. (you may hit your head on the ceiling)

I DID my G35 Coupe Seat mod on the conditions that:

1. I got the Leather seat for $130 from some very nice guy on Craigslist2. I have a MIG welder (LINCOLN 170)3. I had the patience to "Trial and Error" for 3 days!

It will take time to get it just right and perfect. Since most seat mods are "Custom" you must be practical and a good improvisor as well as know the basics of material strength.

"Or just be a noob and pay to have it done."

As you can see, the seat is a little high....

AND SORRY FOR POSTING UP THIS PICTURE SO MANY TIMES, IM SO PROUD OF IT.

Ah I see. Well I'm 6 foot and I weigh under 150. I'm skinny (but actually put on like 20 pounds of upper body mass doing labour all summer, and of course I have beastly legs from competitive bicycle racing, but still, skinny) so I fit in those seats just fine. The infiniti seat looks awesome, hard for me to tell what is high and what's low without actually sitting in the car though. Stupid Catcon. I think if I can find them at a junkyard I'll attempt it, otherwise I'll have to pick up some S14 seats, and get them leathered up or something. *shrugs*

youll fit fine. i drove my srt for over 2 years every day and the seats were totally comfortable. im 6'3" and 215. fit fine. its all how you are built

but fyi they are tall seats, and id wager that they would end up being too tall for the 240.

if you want a seat that will a. fit and b. be cheap look into corbeau clubman (i believe thats what they were) i traded my srt seats to a friend of mine for them and they were very similar in feel (no reclining though) and fit. i traded back because my fiance wasnt too comfy in them for long travels, and i wanted to be able to recline. but iirc they were 220 a piece and i think you could probably find some bolt in brakcets for them.

either way good luck, but i think you could find a cheaper/easier alternative than srt seats

oh and before i forget, i tried to buy a srt seat from a junkyard for my bud, they wanted 500 a piece. sometimes you can find then cheap on ebay or craigslist, but not at a yard. thieves they are.

As far as comfort the stock 240 seats aren't that bad in my opinion, but I'm 5'8". There's the basic 240 stock S13 sport seat with the fixed headrest, then the one with the moveable headrest, then there's the S14 seats and Skyline seats which you can use with minimal modification. I've found Recaro's in the junkyard for $40 a pair, or get a used set of Bride's or Recaro's off ebay or craigslist (that's actually gonne be more than $200). Ok, maybe there's not a ton of options under $100, but for sure you can get a really good condition pair of brand name seats and brackets for maybe $300-500.

My brother-in-law had an SRT-4 for three years up until a few weeks ago (traded it in on an SUV). i loved the seats in it (i'm 6' and 165lbs). i would love to have a set of those seats in my car. he offered it to me for $11k before he sold it.. if i wasnt a college kid and didnt already had two cars, i would have taken it... oh well..

damn, sits as high as my sparcos, ive been trying to find a way to lower it as well

im thinking of having the foam in the seat cut like a inch, so I sit lower in the seat rather then doing crazy modding and welding

Sorry to bring back a dead thread but i just picked up a pair of SRT4 seats for my hatch and I thought id add my 2 cents.

Im 6' 180lb and I wouldnt say they were narrow, but again it depends on your build. The side bolsters hold me perfectly and its nice to have the fixed back for the headrest.

That being said, installation is going to be a b****. I plan to do plenty of cutting and welding, not because of the height of the seat alone, but the fact that the sliders are designed for the flat floor pan so the bar goes all the way across whereas ours is on the outer side of the seat. I might throw some pics up here at least of the finished product once its done but its definitely not a bolt in situation like aftermarket seats and rails. But I paid $160 for the pair in pretty good shape and seeing as how even POS ebay seats will run you as much as $250 its a worthwhile project for the DIY crowd.
