I am looking into replacing my idler pulley bearings, but can't stand shelling out about $200 for the Y33's new set. Has anyone removed the old bearings out of the pulleys and replaced them with other ones successfully?

Also the OEM pulley bearing's # is NSK 6301DULX. Do the older Q's share the same bearing and who can tell me where to get a few?

I found replacement idler pulley bearings for the G50 through Motion Industries. It looks like you may have something different for the F50 but if you have a P/N off the bearing they should be able to get them for you.

Check out this thread: zerothread/259050

Thanks, I looked at that thread. Was it worthwhile to replace the bearings instead of buying new OEMs? What are the lifespans of the aftermarkets, or did Motion Industries have NSKs in stock? I tried the serial number from the pulley on their site, but it didn't come up. I have called NAPA before, and they said 6301's are pretty common, but I can't seem to find 'em. Wes, Tech, Maxnix?

NAPA wanted $25 per bearing here in Gainesville.

I lucked out and found a set of 3 on ebay for $35 shipped.

They work perfectly.

I'm not sure if the seller is a member or not but here is a link to his profile on ebay.

Sorry to go off topic here, but analasak; did you do the conversion yet? I'd love to see it. The guy I was talking to statepolice! said he didn't really do a complete conversion and so he couldn't give me the exact list of things. I know it's the trunk, hood, fenders, tail lamps, and head lamps. Did you have to replace the bumpers too?

Here's the link to the OEM bearings, not the pulleys. Are you reading NSK as the manufacturer of the pulley or the bearing? For the 90-96 at least it uses an NTN double shield (sealed) bearing (LLU). Not sure about your 98Q. The ebay set seems like a good deal for $30 and Texasoil sells the bearing sets for $25 shipped. If you have access to a hydraulic press there's a lot of money to be saved for just a couple of minutes work pressing in bearings.

There's a good parts search on this web site so you may be able to cross-reference it here. Good luck.

Nah, not yet.

Bumpers have to be replaced.

My version of Nissan FAST has the President (JHG50) listed in it and there is a LOT more to do a full President conversion than just bodywork.

I'm still gathering all the parts for a full conversion. (Minus the components to put the driver on the other side of the car.)

Plus I'm rebuilding a '93-94 Maxima SE, a '73 240z, a Thundercat, and maintaining my white Q as well as the wifey's Aveo.

And I work 40-50 hours a week.

I know there's all sorts of interior stuff. I was more concerned about the exterior. I used to have the link to get the Nissa FAST, but I lost it. thanks for the tip though. when I get the FAST, I'll be able to check all of the parts.

The interior mods would be easy right? President clock and airbag. Possibly a different wood kit. I need to get my hands on some OEM mats too. Or possibly throw some OEM Nissan mats.

Did your parts come with the Nissan badges attached?
