Has anyone seen/done an lt1 swap into an s13?

My friend is getting rid of his lt1 from his 1997 firebird formula and told me i could get it for a deal from him for a swap. Since my ka is giving me so much trouble and has 200,xxx miles I figured that I would put some thought into it. I don't know much about the differeces in the engine mounts between an lt1 and an ls1. So I guess my first question is can an ls swap kit work, and would it be worth it? I don have the monetary funds to by an ls1 and I have to do this on a strct budget. And I need a running car soon.

Dear Dftsilvia: Are you on drugs? 200hp out of an LT1? well thanks for lettting us know for sure that you have no GD idea at all what you are talking about. I'm not sure if the lt1 will fit into your s-13 but if all it can crank out is 200hp I will personally eat your seats, license plate and intake. my old lt1 (which is a 5.7L carb engine dipstick) pushed at least 350hp to the wheels of my old camaro (no I did not have a mullet, yes I deserve to be mocked for driving an I-Roc) if your 5.7L engine ever manages only to moistly fart out 200hp: stop working on cars, you obviously missed the train. and consider yourself birthday and xmas gifted as I HEAVILY edited this post to de-flame and de-vulgarify it. Stop posting if you dont know wtf you are talking about. The only thing I agree with you on is that if you are working on a budget a swap is prob not the best idea, look into working with your KA more possibly?

Yes I have seen an LT1 s13.....it was an autocross car and had "too much torque" syndrome.....fun to watch though....

Wel the reason I am thinking of doing this is because I am getting an engine, transmission, and harness for free. The Ka has 200,000 miles and a piece of the timing chain guide broken off in there somewhere. I was going to do timing chains and maybe re-cam it but if I am going to do that much work I could just go for a swap.
