Its happened twice now. I'll drive around for a bit and go to park my car and when i turnit off (key is completely out of the ignition) the engine starts back up for a second and thendies. Both times i immediatley try turning it over, but the engine has some how flooded itself.

I was just wondering if anyone had experience hist or if anyone has any ideas.

i havnt heard of that happening on a CA before. i do remember click and klack (car talk on npr) helping some guy with the same problem, so youre not the only person to have experienced this.

seeing as the CA is fuel injected, im not entirely sure whats going on. it probably ony runs for a second because the fuel system is still pressurized when you shut the car off. the injectors cant fire without the ecu having power though... and then you still have to contend with the fact that the plugs cant fire unless the ignition has power, and subsequently the ecu.

my guess is something is wrong in the ignition system. maybe your ignition switch is acting up on you? my friend had one go bad on his mustang and it caused all kinds of random problems.

Aftermarket thermo fans??

A good pair of thermos can cause the ignition relay to stick open. You need to wire them differently.

Let us know more! :-)

nope. i'm running a complete stock set up except for a greddy type-s BOV, a old analog S-AFC, a walbro fuel pump and a turbo xs manual boost controler. i've had this setup for almost a year and it hasen't given me any problems until now.

Run some seafoam and fuel injector through the motor. It sounds like you've got some considerable carbon buildup inside the motor and it's causing run-on.

does the old s-afc interface to the injectors or just the maf? maybe its bouncing the injectors due to freak electrical gremlins and opening them up causing it to diesel a bit. of course try what float said since normally it wouldn't diesel anyawys, but if the c/r is crazy it might..

It's called a million different things. We all know what eachother is getting at regardless of what term is used.
