Trying to figure out how much the non warranty maintenance on an M56x might be. I am thinking of moving back to Infiniti from BMW 5 Series. Oil change on Bimmer $300, wheel alignment $350, replacing one seized rear brake caliper $1100. I was actually considering the 3 series M Sport if I couldn't find the right M56 but I think the seized caliper has pushed my right out of the German camp.

Haven't had to replace but I've upgraded the set. Replacement caliper around $255, don't know about labor. Oil change at Infiniti with synthetic about $80; it was less with normal oil. Alignment should be less but I forget.

Caliper will be fixed on BMW warranty, which I luckily still have a month left on. Aftermarket warranty starts at the end of May but this was an eye opener and the 5 Series is going to be gone. I have my eye on a 2013 M56S AWD with 20k miles which is coincidentally the exact car I was looking for when I bought my 550. I am in Canada and that is literally the only low miler for sale in the country. Wish me luck. If I can't get the M I am dropping down to a 335 X drive M Sport or a GS350 F Sport (gotta have those paddles).

Hey nuck, do it. I just got a '12M56s with only 14k on it....amazing car. You won't be left wanting for anything my friend. And it doesn't have that tight "I need to beat this car up" feeling that I've felt in ALL BMW's...this is as much luxury as power, and it's as comfy at 65 as it is at 100....
