I have a set of seats from my old car (1990 z32 NA) and am probably purchasing a 1992 240sx this friday as a dd.

I always loved how sturdy and comfortable the OEM Z32 seats were, and was wondering if they will bolt up to the s13 chasis?

Has anyone successfully done this?

Yes, and as far as I know they're a direct bolt in.

i am pretty sure its a huge pain in the *** and custom brackets need to be made....that could be the Z33 seats though....

ditto. I think someone w/a very sweet sil80 conversion did them and described them to be a PITA.

They looks very nice Rudee.

I still think I may tackle this project....

I have the seats, and the motivation.

Other than the hassle of relocating mounting points, does the Z32 seat fit some what comfortably in the footprint of the s13 seat?

Wow, that's a nice sil80, Rudee... How is the flat black holding up? Did you have to do anything different when re-painting the blue into flat black? Did you even have to sand it down much before painting? Does it feel coarse to the touch? Was it cheaper to paint with than regular paint? Sorry for thread jacking and rambling so many questions out.

Rudee,I know this is not related to the conversation, but i went to your car domain and I really like that color of blue. Mine is already a blue, but I like that one better. If you can get back to me on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the props guys. O.k. let me see.

1. The flat black is just a crappy temp job I did myself until I paint it again.

2. The seats fit fine but won't fit perfect. May sit a little higher than OEM seats. And only 3/4 bolts lined up for me. If you're tall you're screwed.

3. The old blue color was a Maaco paint job. Dark blue metallic. Don't know the code.

Hey Man,

We had a customer that wanted us to do it and lets just say DONT!

You would have to remove the seat brackets off the 300ZX and weld the 240SX seat brackets in their place. It would be quite a job.

Plus the seats sit at different heights, your head would hit the ceiling.

Take care!

What up Kaz? :)

240 = trashy Z

Same components as the Z only lighter, cheaper, and easier to work on :)

And you put a CA in a Z32????!!!!!!!!

Ive heard a full harness without a rollbar = serious injury/death in a rollover because your body cant compress as it can with a stock seatbelt. I dont know if you have a rollbar or not, but i'll look up the threads if you want to read them.
