Hey guys,

After watching a vid on youtube. I thinking of putting a flow master 50 series on my pathfinder. Just wondering if any has some sort of exhaust upgrade and how much it cost them.

Here's the links enjoy-

I have a 40 series on my '04...muffler ran about 80 bucks and the shop I went to ran me 40 bucks to have it welded on with a Y pipe..no tailpipe. On a side note....While on youtube to see that (it doesn't sound any better, IMO, than my 40...think mine is louder. And he's got issues with his engine, unless it was cold and got wicked hot quick.....) there was a vid of a Trailblazer with the 50 on it....my wife had a TB when I first met her, so I wanted to see what it sounded like....dude was talking about the "mods" he did, like taking off the badges and his hitch cover (didn't know those were mods....in that case, my rig is modded all to sh*t...just look at all the stickers!)..but then he walks in front to show his HID kit and you can hear the death rattle of the bad fan clutch....good job, moron! You can "mod" your ride and install HID's, but fail to attend to the small mechanical things that will roast your engine when it goes out for good. Some people.......

I've run a Magnaflo exhaust for like 3 years now. Couldn't be happier.

qxxx4, not a problem with the R50...it's in the 02-05 Trailblazer...known problem that hardly anyone bothers to fix...it's a steady tick that says the clutch is on its way out...and when it does, it locks up the fan and if you're not moving air through the radiator, it overheats and you fry your motor...and it is a royal PITA to change out. Fortunately, my wife rolled and totalled her trailblazer before I had to swap it for one out of an '06....wait, that wasn't fortunate....that b*tch would have been paid off by now....lol

I went to kijiji(site where you buy used and new stuff). The 50 series are about 100 bucks and the 40 series is about 85. Im looking into a deep sound that gm v8 gives. There are so many series to choose from.

There's almost nothing more amazing than the sound of my VQ35 pulling through 4,000rpm at peak torque. Except maybe a Ferrari Challenge Stradale.

Yea that's right, I just compared my Pathy to a Ferrari.

Hell yeah! I think it sounds best after 3k. except No exhaust note though...its all intake. I Want an exhaust that sounds good when u acclerate but is quiet to keep u relax an dnot annoyed when u cruise. U guys think just removing the resonator will do that?

Its called the rear muffler... its on the very back. I was thinking maybe running a straigt pipe from the main muffler would give some kind od an exhaust note maybe.

I did that with mine before I straight piped it. I wasn't that exciting. Was just audible from inside.

It was rainin in the tach video, hence the loosing traction, but you get an idea what it sounds like in the car. And aparently my ebrake was on in one of the videos to.... kudos to me

Frist 2 of the side exit, last video is from 2 years ago wth no mufflers, dont have vids of cruisin speed (cause thats just not fun lol) but its quiet as pie cruising, small small drone on the highway

I installed the Stillen stage one on my old 97 QX4. It consisted of intake, exhaust manifold and exhaust plumbing.

The intake was rerouted to be inside the driver side wheel well compartment. The exhaust manifold required cutting (via welder) to be installed without taking apart much of the vacuum lines. The exhaust plumbing was relatively easy.

good performance boost, the thing sounded like a beast however, more like a pony car than an SUV.

Really, removing the resonator is hardly worth the effort...unless you're trying to lose the tailpipe for off roading purposes, I wouldn't bother until you install full exhaust...it's got a little bit of a snappy growl to it from inside the cab when you first remove it...but 2 days later, you can't tell any difference and wonder why you did it.

I'm not really going for louder, I'd be perfectly fine with me if it stayed the same tone (inside especially!!!). I just want to route the exhaust pipe out the side with some type of better looking tip. I just wanted an idea of the sound difference before I do it...

Edit: I really like the way this looks and sounds! It says magnaflow but not exactly what muffler or anything... I wouldn't mind it sounding like this!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

Im thinking of buying the frontier headers and making them work. I know the cat is further back in the exhaust system so extending the 02 sensor wires is required.

Stock is broing.

Being that our PF has seen mag-chloride in Denver and now sodium-chloride in OH on the snowy/icey roads, I don't think the exhaust pieces will take much more. I know that exhaust pieces have an 8 yr/80k mi warranty, but replacing with something that has a bit more growl isn't too much to ask for.

I know there are two cans (front and rear) in the exhaust system. The big front can has two in/one out and is about 20" long (50cm) and the rear can is smaller and is one in/one out to the tail pipe. Which one is a resonator and which one is a muffler? Are they both mufflers?

For those that have replaced from the cats back, do you have any pictures of your setup? Are you still running two cans or did you just go with one?

Has anyone cut open the stock cans to see how they work or what magic they hold?

What would be best for less drone...straight thru or chambered. If chambered, a 2 chamber or 3 chamber design?

If youre gonna swap out your exhaust from the cats back, why would you add 2 mufflers? Save yourself the cash and go 1.

I went with a magnaflow 40 straight thru design and out the side like in the videos I posted. Cost me $150 total ( DIY ) and sounds amazing, Ive even got a comliment from a cop lol
