Hello,

The subject speaks for itself. I found these at:

http://www.performancenissanpa...id=88

Has anyone ever purchased these, or does anyone know anything about them? I tried contacting the site, but I haven't heard anything back.

I have no idea about those coilovers, but remember one thing in buying something that seems like a good deal. . . "you get what you paid for" I just called them up and ask what brand of coilovers those were. . . the girl told me that they were Nismo coilovers. . . yea, sounds a little, or waaaaaaaaay too good to be true.

I believe that's the new nismo s tuned coilovers released by nismo recently. I tihnk rico05 (I think that's his name) recently did a review on them. I think the S tune is not height nor dampening adjustable though.

I'm looking at the Nismo catalog right now, and the S13 S-tune suspension kit (non-adjustable) is 98000 yen (little over $900 ). Judging from the non-adjustable suspension kit being over $900, don't you think that a fully adjustable shock w/ dual spring coilovers would cost a little more than $650?I'd DEFINATELY ask arond whether or not this is a reputable company. I want to make myself clear that I'm not trying to talk crap about this company. IF thay can deliver on their promise, more power tp them. I'll start buying from them. I'm just advising people to be careful buying from a company that seems too good to be true.. . . I'm gonna be sooo pissed if it is a ligit company, though. 'Cause I bought a set of used tein HEs for about $600 when I SHOULD have paid the extra $50 for Nismo. . . lol

yes. you should definitley call and ask before you buy. but I think this is the Nismo Stune coilover - but I may well be wrong. I just remember loooking at the same thing coupla months ago and calling them up and some1 told me they were Nismo Stunes (part of the legacy performance parts) that aren't hieght or dampening adjustable. Maybe I remebered something wrong, but you should call and ask.

Those are definately not the Nismo S-tune coilovers. Ancually, if you want to be nit-picky, they're not even S13 coilovers on that pic. Back to what I was talking about. They are not S-tune suspension kit b/c, like Liu & I said before, the S-tune kit is non-adjustable, whereas the ones on the pics look like they are (at least the fronts do). Check this out. http://www.courtesyparts.com/n....html That's the R-tune suspension. . . Look familiar? Yea, performance nissan is selling THIS kit for how much? I doubt that they are able to under sell Courtesy Nissan, or anybody for that matter, by that much. I seriously doubt that you'll be getting the coilover kit in the picture for $650. It was a nice though while it lasted, though. . . If you're a dreamer, go ahead, try it, you're a lot more trusting than I am, though. In defense of performance Nissan Parts, they MIGHT have forgotten to place a "1" before the "646.50". That price would make sense, considering they are trying to sell the 350Z S-tune suspension kit for $1400. What do you think?

I work at a Nissan Dealership. I'll go check the part # Tuesday (next day I work) to see if they are indeed Nismo s-tune coilovers:)

I have those. Nimso S-Tunes I was told, but came with a decal that said "G-Attack Nismo". Whatever. spring rates are Front: 5.3 kg/mmRear: 3.8 kg/mm

Comes with everything from new top mounts to the bushing at the LCA. Really a nice setup. Lowers the car just a tap, giving a purposeful look, but no ricer or racecar drop here. Car is more progressive during slide, and under steer was reduced (but I also did a lot more to the suspension at the time, so any independent effect from the coilover may not totally be noticed) I am really happy with my purchase.

In regards to the picture: The online retailer that I purcahsed my S-Tunes from was Nissan Parts Dealer (http://www.trademotion.com/par...=3078) They said that is the only picture released to distrubitors by Nismo USA. The pic is the Nismo R-Tune for the S14. The S-Tunes are non adjustable, but still come in that sexy Red and Silver;)

jeansguy, if you're thinking about AGX, spend the extra $, and go w/ the Nismo. The reason I was "iffy" about this company was that the pic and the price didn't match up. I knew that those were not for the S13, nor were they even the S-tune, but rico05 cleared that up, so I'd say go for it. You're not going to get much better than Nismo. Unless you're going for the "look". They stiffen up the car just enough to make it handle good, and the ride quality isn't horriblly sacrificed. For $650, I don't think you're going to find a whole lot better.

What springs do you plan to run? You do realize that to run a stiffer spring, you need to run the AGXs (which are desigened to be run with stock rate springs FYI) at full hard which will wear them out faster right? You also realize that the Nismo S-Tunes were designed by the Japanese engineers that designed the S13 chassis right? As for quality...All I can say is "Wow". These things are solid. Also, FYI the dampeners on the S-Tunes are custom valved non adustable built by KYB and are matched to the spring rates, so all of the guesswork of tuning your AGXs to your springs is already done. For the price, I can't think of a better coilover IMHO.

Hello Rico,

Well, the plan was to run RS-R race springs with 5kg up front and 4.5kg in the rear. I am looking for the best handling, and I'm not too concerned with ride quality. Currently the car is riding on STOCK thirteen year old shocks and springs so I know all about crap ride quality!!

Again, all of your input is greatly appreciated. My final goal is Tein/Kazama tie rod/end combo, rear subframe spacers, shocks, springs and tires in one big orgy of purchasing. I can't believe how crazy the difference is going to be........

Rico,

I just re-read your post and it finally clicked about what you said. Now that I think about it, I need something to match my NISMO shift knob!!

I have the AGX and RSR race springs on my s14 and they are great. Of course I would love a set of high quality coilovers but for the $, these seem to be pretty good. I like the fact that I can dampen adjust to match the driving condition/style. Plus if you blow a damper it's much cheaper and easier to replace ;] Those were my main reasons to get the AGX and springs (plus that they raised the darn price on the JIC FLTA1s...)

RS*R Race Springs: $225AGXs: $400Total: $625

S-Tunes: $685 (mine were $715 shipped and insured)

Right now I am running Tein tie rods, the S-Tunes, Project Silvia p/b t/c rods, Whiteline D bushings and endlinks w/ HICAS rear sway bar and stock SE front sway bar. Coupled with my Azenis Sport tires, my car grips for days and is so easy to drive aggressively.
