i am lookin at buyin my first import, and i was thinkin i would save some bucks if i bought a no turbo and then just swaped engines, but it looks like thats not the case, if i am going to buy a 300zx which one do i get if i cant live without turbos... would i be better off finding a blown tt and rebuilding the engine?

If you really want a TT in the first place, the best thing to do would be to buy a TT in the first place. It will cost more to buy a N/A and do a TT swap.

it will cost more to do the swap short term but get some insurance quotes. it depends on how old you are. i'm about to turn 20 so insurance is a lot for me. they quoted me (for full coverage) 1400 for a TT and i pay 1025 for my TT conversion because the VIN is of a NA 2 seater. probably save even more on a 2+2 but i's heavier. that's cost per six months.

if you really know what you're doing and have experience and friends that can help you can do it but it is a lot of work.

my advice is just get a TT model.
