I'm interested in the Manifold spacer. I don't think that part can do much harm. Any thoughts?
After thinking about their statements, it doesnt make a whole lot of sense. The total heat in the system is going to remain the same.
If you isolate the throttle body from the intake manifold, and the manifold from the engine, the air will remain cooler as it passes through these parts. But the engine block will not be able to dissipate heat as well and the block will run hotter.
I guess the only difference is now the air will have less surface area to get heated as it makes its way into the cylinders. But all that heat is now in the engine block; not only will it heat up the intake air, but it will heat up the engine bay too. It's still going to dissipate the same amount of heat.
Unless we're bringing more air through the engine bay, or introducing new cooling methods like heat sinks, we're not going to do much good.
