They're top-notch...probably the best rod manufacturer out there, which also means that they come at a premium (VERY costly). I don't even know if they make them for the KA, but if they do, expect to pay about $500 PER rod.

$250-300 per rod, the real ka24 carrillos are 171mm long.

I have the opertunity to by some pretty cheap, but they have been in a race car and I'm suspicious because of that. I also Talked to carrillo and they said they can make them for about $360 a piece, but thats whole sale.

oem length is 165mm, you will need custom pistons.

That is, if they are the carrillo ka24 race rods, they might have an oem length version for custom orders im not sure. There is quite a few of the race rod sets around, most used.

ka24e/de doesnt matter.

The new NISMO catalog just came out last week. They still offer the rod there. BUT, they do not show a stock length anymore, just the 171mm one.The ones NISMO offers is the Carrillo rod repackaged for Nissan.

Keep an eye out on Ebay. I was very fortunate to obtain a set off of Ebay, new, at a very good price. Currently going into my "E" race motor. They are a work of art.

I recently sent stock KA rods (and a set of forged aftermarket rods for a KA) to Carrillo to see about getting them to make them for us... Carrillo currently makes us rods for our stroker Evo and DSM motors. They can make us rods for the KA but they will end up costing more than the current options of Crower and Pauter.. Although it would be nice to have another option, I think at this point more people are looking for less expensive rods more along the lines of Eagle... So we ended up going elsewhere....

Just go to their website. They don't look any different than aftermarket rods.

Arent they quite heavy and expected to be used in high boost engines??You also need to know the center to center distance, as you may find you need custom pistons to fit them in your block??

Custom piston is a custom piston, contact a piston manufacture and be apt enough to talk with an engineer, and there you go. Depending on dimensions that want to be carried over from any other given piston (ring assortment, fit, bore, pin size, skirt characteristic) an example should be sent to the manufacture. That would be the method for a flat top or a dish piston anyways.

The 171mm of the carrillo rod is rounded, you get proper documentation on the length but as with anything, final fit is up to machinist discretion.

Personally, at that length in the 2.4l block, I would kick the piston pin size down to 19 or 20mm to better suit the piston height, you will be doing some intruding onto your oil rings.

These rods were designed for NA race use btw, good rod, still a lot in use today, they have been around a long time.
